You could try to add some lemon, lime, or orange juice to keep the slices from turning brown. Or you could pick up one of those apple slicers and bring the whole apple and slicer to work. It cores and cuts the apple all in one motion, and you wouldn't get in trouble for bringing a knife to school.

Put some lemon juice on the slices or put slices in a small container with water and lemon juice and when you are ready to eat them they will be nice and white and crunchy.

After slicing, sprinkle a little lemon juice on the apple pieces.

lemonade will stop this... why would you want to put lemon juice on your apple... the reason it turns brown is cause if the cut surface oxydizes... it doesnt matter if its brown... just eat it.

It the same as when ground beef is packaged. Its a red colour on the outside cause of the oxygen but on the inside its purple or brown. Many people think that when its brown its bad... not the case...

Gee..try the lemon juice. I can take a knife to work with me and keep one in my locker. My apples start during the minute I cut it in half. It's frustrating. I'm thinking about just baking in the microwave and taking that.

I prefer to take the whole apple, washed, and tuck in. But if you like it cut:
* prepare the fruit in the morning
* rub the cut apple with lemon juice.

It should keep until lunch hour.

Slice your apple into quarters. Then slice an orange into quarters. Take 2 slices of the apple and re-assemble using to slices of the orange. Alternate apple-orange-apple-orange. Put it in a ziploc baggie. The acid in the orange will keep your apple from browing.

lemon juice will be the best ... It really perks up the flavor too.
have you tried a plastic knife, some of them now come with a sharper edge you might be able to get it done.
