high end hotels do offer an event planner.

I don't mean to sound snarky but if you're not paying the high end price than you're getting a deal for the location and then just go and hire yourself a day of coordinator.

If you plan you're wedding just right the day of should just flow...no attention to big detail neede.d

No, you do not need to tip her. I am a wedding planner and I work with "event planners" that work at hotels and resorts where my clients get married. They are paid by their employer to be your "event planner." So, you do not need to tip them like you would your other vendors. However, if you find that they have gone above and beyond to help you in the planning stages of your wedding, then you might think about giving her a small non-monetary gift to show your appreciation. Flowers or a gift basket with a hand written thank you note would be appropriate. And I am sure that she would be so happy to have you show your appreciation since most wedding planners and hotel event planners rarely are shown appreciation in that way. Hope this helps!

Most hotels that are 4-star and above do have CSM's (or Convention Services Managers) and Event Planners on their staff who work in conjunction with their Sales Departments. Granted, they are expensive - but if you're looking for EASY over EXPENSIVE, you can have them do it all for you!!

You can also hire local event planners or wedding coordinators, which is a little cheaper usually, who will work with the hotel to make sure it all goes as planned and how you want it.

A planner is always a great bet when you do not have the time or the patients to complete the task yourself. If you can afford to - go for it! You can also find your own personal planner if you go with a place that does not employ one.

I absolutely agree for every hotel to be that way but mostly you would see those at a one of those most expensive hotels. You have to have mega bucks for this sort of thing. Goodluck in finding a nice hotel that accomodates that.

High end hotels do offer this service. It doesn't come cheap, hence it only is offered at high end hotels.
