I also am planning a weding abroad (Africa) and I got a beautiful strapless dress from Monsoon for £235, it's strapless and ivory and beaded throughout. Looks fab!
Dessy has some dresses and they're associated with Sandals. I wanted a strapless one and before I decided on the Monsoon one I looked at their strapless ones.
Good luck!

I think wedding dresses look so ridiculously out of place on a beach. If you're getting married on a beach then you should wear beach gear, shorts and a top or a nice bikini or swimsuit. To wear a wedding dress on a beach would be a little like wearing a bikini to a church wedding ! Be imaginative, don't worry what others think and have a great day.

Hi I'm getting married in Feb and like you didn't want to spend a lot on a dress so I looked on ebay for a pattern (which cost £8) Then went to fabric shop the the fabric cost £65. A friend of the family is making it for me (which is costing £0) Ask around and see if anyone can help x
Good luck

I'm sure you can find something that won't break the budget at some local bridal shops. Alfred angelo carries a line of informal dresses that would be absolutly georgeous for a beach wedding that don't cost an arm and a leg! You can try Davids Bridal, but I hated them, and even tho it is affordable, I found the dresses to be overpriced for their quality...they were very mass produced in my opinion (can we say, made in china?! lol!) Also, I found the staff to be very overbearing and rude! Shop around tho, it shouldn't be too hard! good luck and congrats!

Lots of companies do "Destination" wedding dresses now, in lighter materials for the beach etc.
Have a look at http://www.confetti.co.uk as they have many dresses in their database. They have some destination dresses included in that.
Also, go to the iVillage UK wedding planner forum - you will get a lot of help from people there. I know that some people from there have bought dresses at really reasonable prices from an ebay shop - http://stores.ebay.co.uk/Cinderellas-Bridal-Shop - hope that helps too.
Good luck, and enjoy your day.

Go to David's Bridal. That's where I got my wedding dress. They are having a sale this week. They have very nice and friendly customer service people. They even have a $99.00 wedding dress deal.
Here's the link:

Another option is to go to any department store. They carry evening gowns. Sometimes when you're lucky you'd find one that you may like in white or ivory. Accessorizing it with appropriate jewelries will do the trick.
Congratulations!
Here's another link for the House of Brides on-line store:

Depends how much you want to spend. I got married abroad & so didn't want a huge dress due to the heat and packing it but after going round loads of bridal shops I ended up in Debenhams at Meadowhall in Sheffield & got a lovey strapless wedding dress with a small train from there. They are as good quality as the bridal shops but loads cheaper. They come in standard sizes but you can have them altered.

I was married in Cancun Mexico on a Gazabo over looking the ocean. I got my wedding dress at David's Bridal (it's a big chain). I got my dress on sale for $130.00! The brand name was Galina. They had a number of dresses that were light/breathable material. My dress was simple but very elegant... the back was all lace, I loved it! Good luck :)
