don't be offended, i am speaking from personal experience....
lots of times multiple urinary tract infections are cause when a child is being molested.
BUT sometime if a little girls isn't wiping correctly, feces may get into the urinary tract via the urethra, always wipe front to back, make sure this is happening.

My daughter had quite alot of them when she was 4/5 we had tests run to make sure there wasn't a reflux (painful and tramatic) it ended up that she wasn't wiping correctly. Buy some of the flushable wipes and be sure you teach how to wipe front to back and be sure the child is clean after! This stopped the UTI's for my daughter. Good Luck I know it's frustrating and difficult and the sulfer antibiotics stink and are difficult to get down. Try this seriously. I have recommended this to many parents (im a director of a child care) and they have had good results.

you don't indicate if the child is a boy or a girl. thus, the typical causes for urinary infections should include:
1. having soap enter the urethra
2. holding the urge to urinate
for girls ONLY
1. poor hygiene in wiping oneself
2. molestation
best to treat the condition with plenty of water and/or cranberry juice. encourage the child to void as frequently as possilbe.
if this fails, your child should see your family practioner, who may refer your child to a urologist.
due to the frequency of the infections, the doctor may question the possibility of molestation.

It could be improper diet or they aren't getting completly clean. Some people are just prone to them though. In that case a glass or two of cranberry juice daily keeps them from returning. Baths are also a possible culprit, the dirt from the rest of their body could cause the infection. So try switching them to showers until the infection is gone.

If it'a girl, probably inproper wiping after going to the bathroom. Your supposed to wipe from front to back. Also, I hate to say this, but anytime a young child has any kind of infection down there, sexual abuse should be seriously considered.

Believe it or not if you use bubble bath in a bath tub with a young child it can cause a UTI. IF you are using it discontinue the use. Also an excessive amount of carbonated drinks (COKE)

Not drinking enough water or not bathing enough. If it is a girl then not wiping from front to back.

besides the last answers that are right on, you should also make sure that the child wears 100 percent cotton underwear. that goes for both boys and girls.

First I'd check for the possibility of sexual abuse then I'd check diet.
