I own a Kodak CX-7500 camera, which has been a great camera. My pictures are very clear, but the colors are just sort of normal. It's sorta like the Claritin commercial, where the picture looks clear, until that clear cover thing is lifted and all of the colors appear brighter. Nothing is wrong with my camera; I just want to make my colors look brighter, more like the pictures of beaches in travel magazines. I don't know a lot about photography, but I think it probably has something to do with color saturation. Am I right? Anyways, are there settings I can change on my camera to make the colors look brighter, or are there programs I can use that will improve the color of pictures I have already taken? My camera doesn't take different lenses, so that won't work. Any suggestions?

Yes ,, there are many photo programs available. I personally use Corel ...Paint Shop Pro 10. It has a one step photo fix button. Just click the button and it auto clears the pic and brighten it.. It has lots of features for processing photos too. Try the 30 day trial.

Always trust the miracle of Photoshop :)
I think I know how to solve your problems. If you use some photo editing software like Photoshop, you can have this problem adjusted through a lot of ways. And yes, it also has to do a bit with saturation.
Once you already install Photoshop CS2 after purchasing or download trial, you can try opening your photo in this program, and I have to tell you that there are loads of ways here for you to do the color adjustment. But you can only find it in Adjustment toolbar by going to either Hue/Saturation or Photo Filter or any other color adjustment tool here.
I guess its kinda hard for me to explain more stuff about Photoshop of you haven't or not that familiar with this new program. But I'd say there are plenty of tutorial/forum discussion out there who can really help beginners and even an advanced person. I listed a few websites for you can browse around.

Adobe Photoshop is a program that lets you do almost anything with your pictures-including the color saturation. I am not familiar with the Kodak CX-7500, but you may want to check your settings for a vivid color setting. Your lense could possibly be dirty too.

While there maybe settings you can adjust on the camera, you can prob do more with software. There are many software programs available that will let you edit your photos. They cover the full range of cost and features. In your case I would start with some of the free programs available and move up if/when you feel more comfortable. Here are two to start with:
Kodak Easyshare

I have to agree...Photoshop it. ...and I wouldn't worry about the 'have you tried not sucking answer'. The same person tried to give me some pseudo-intellectual babble about 'false realities'. Honestly, what the heck is a false reality? I promise the plants in my pictures (does anyone feel like being a critic?) really were there. Funny how most people that don't like someone else's work feel they have to come up with b.s. or simply say 'you suck'. Whatever happened to constructive criticism?
In any case, I'd love to see some of your pics if you put a link on some of your future questions.
