You have posed the best question I have ever seen. Excellent job.

It's all about human nature and the pecking order, exerting superiority over those perceived to be weaker or of less value. It's seen in the animal world, wolf pack behavior being a prime example, and it follows us through our everyday lives.

What started out as an instinctual survival skill has become a tool for hurting and belittling others. And as long as people are weak, narrow-minded and prejudiced, we will continue to assert our fears in the form of appearing to be superior to those around us.

Thank you for the wonderful question.

People are confused and scared about the meaning of life, why are we here? what is our purpose? etc.... Nobody knows, therefore people create their own world where they feel better than others. They would rather be king of an imaginary world, then an equal in the real world. Something no one would need to do if they accepted the world and themselves for what it really is.

That depends on your religious and cultural background. Some religions believe that women are of lesser value than men.

In a modern open minded view, that's just human nature. Some people are egotistical, some have poor self esteem. Everyone's different.

People who claim superiority and those who claim inferiority are not psychologically normal. If both freed their minds they will feel equal except what the consequences of their deeds.

pride--one of the seven deadly sins. That is not to say that there is not a superlative Faith though, sometimes people may not be voicing an opinion that THEY are superior but, that their Faith is.

When we're very young we don't think we're better than other people. It's the disillusionment and corruption that can come with adulthood that gives us that "holier than thou" attitude. So we are all created equal. It's growing up that makes us think we aren't.

God loves us all equal and we should not have pride for "God opposes the proud," but where does it say in the Bible that he created us all equal?

I don't remember reading that in the bible, I think that was our four fathers. But I believe those who think they are superior will be less in the kingdom of Heaven. And the meek, humble, poor, children ~ they all will be first in the kingdom... Vengeance is mine saith the Lord. Trust in that.

This is what God says about that...

3Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit, but in humility consider others better than yourselves. (Phil 2)

Do not think of yourself more highly than you ought, but rather think of yourself with sober judgment, in accordance with the measure of faith God has given you.
4Just as each of us has one body with many members, and these members do not all have the same function,
5so in Christ we who are many form one body, and each member belongs to all the others. (Rom 12)

"This is the one I esteem: he who is humble and contrite in spirit, and trembles at my word." (Isa 66)

(He also tells us though that there will be "greatest" and "least" in the kingdom of heaven)...

By the way, I noticed in your members page you wrote: "About Me: I'm the coolest chick you'll ever come across. . . " Isn't this the kind of claim to superiority you are talking about? haha...just kidding. I'm sure you probably are.
