Exactly, though it should be remembered that the Gospel of St Luke was written in the 6th Century, that he never knew Jesus or any of Jesus' disciples, and is basically a hotchpotch of the other 3 gospels. It was written to replace the Gospel of St Thomas, who mentioned that Jesus & Mary were married, and the church wanted to suppress the role of women.
It should also be noted that during the Roman times of Jesus/John/Peter etc, the word 'celibacy' meant abstention from marriage, NOT from sex. Over 2000 years the RC church has altered the meaning, for the same reason. St Pauls epistle urging celibacy, was actually a warning against the Gospel of Mary Magdalene, wife of Jesus, and major protagonist of Peter & Paul.

'For with god nothing will be impossible" means that when god is with you and you have true faith in the God, then nothing shall be impossible. This is because god is the Creator and when you have his blessings with you, you can do anything.

Unfortunately, for me this raises all sorts of problems in my theology.

Did God just not know about those people in the concentration camps? The Armenians? Darfur?

Or does God not care enough to stop the madness?

I mean, if I have the power to stop an atrocity, and I don't, then I'm held guilty by every moral code here on earth.

God is a God of the impossible. He spoke the world into being. He raises dead to life, heals every disease, and saves those that call upon His name and give their lives to Him. When we want God's will to be done, He gives us the strength and power to accomplish it. When we pray with humility and faith, things happen. God is all-powerful. He doesn't ask us to do things that He won't help us to finish.

That is what it means. I still think even with God it would be impossible to ski through a revolving door.

'Hope'...when you are anchored to using God centered discipline, your path (in life) will be guided....and you will avoid the pitfalls of a pop-culture, which most people follow blindly.
