i'm sorry for the loss of your son--losing a kid is the worst pain i've ever felt.
like others who have suggested it, i really recommend you read the book of Job. it can give you perspective.
i don't know why these things have happened to you---but you seem to think that just because you've asked Jesus into your life nothing bad will ever happen to you again---that's not the way it works.
You sound like Job's wife. After he had lost all his earthly possessions, his house and his kids, his wife began to nag at him and tell him to curse the Lord and die. I love Job's answer so much!!!! He says to her "What? Will I accept only good from the Lord and not evil? The Lord giveth and the Lord taketh away---Blessed be the name of the Lord!"
Looking back in my life the times when I grew the most as a Christian were the bad times---when there was no money in the bank, I was without a job and my wife was filing for divorce. It was these bad times that my faith in the Lord grew the most. It could be that God is giving you the right conditions right now to grow spiritually---make the most of them!
You're in my prayers, buddy. Remember, this is an opportunity for you to grow in your faith---don't waste it. Your faith will NEVER grow when there's plenty of money in the bank and everything else is going peachy.

Jimmy, my answer will be brief. But before I go on, I will like to share the mystery of 3:16 with us: John 3:16, I John 3:16 and I Timothy 3:16. Do you now know the person who let His own personal humanity to be put on the alter? Immanu El was here 2000 years ago - the Father was manifested as flesh and we knew Him not. Well to my answer. The sick man was suffering from unbelief. I believe some body took him to that pool but got frustrated when his unbelief was costing him a cure to his ailment. So his excuse was not the real cause of his stay at the pool for that period of time. However, by the time he had seen enough people getting healed at pool, he was too weak to tap into his new found faith. And so he was so close to the symbol of healing but not in it until the Source of healing - El Rapha came calling. The world is condenmed not because of sin ( El Yeshuati has the power to take away the vilest sin) but because of unbelief. Now you may want to ask, believe that Jesus is who or what? It is either you believe outright that He is the LORD GOD manifested as human or that He is the Christ; which will lead us to Isaiah 9:6-7. From here we can see that He is the everlasting Father ( since there can not be two Fathers!). Either way, believing that He is, is the only way out of sin, the sympthoms of sin and eternal damnation. Selah.

When we accept Christ into our hearts, it starts a massive war over your soul. Satan tries everything to turn you away from God, and I mean EVERYTHING! I went through a lot of problems when I turned to Christ also, I didn't lose a son, but like you, a lot of other problems. If you hold onto God, eventually your faith will be rewarded. The apostles went through hell on earth(so to speak), so what we go through is no different. I don't want to sound callous, but your son would have probably passed away despite your faith or not having faith. You are going through what the bible calls "a dry season", it's a time when you begin to wonder if God is hearing your prayers at all. Hang in brother, it's worth it.
A few years after I turned to Christ, I lost everything, my home, job, my wonderful best friend (my dog) of seven years. Today, I have a house, a biblical wife, 3 wonderful step sons, 3 cars and a great job. I can't presume to understand the pain of losing a son, I do know that God's son died for us and suffered a horrible torture before he was crucified.

I am awfully sorry you lost your son in death. That is an agony barely explained, let alone withstood.
You know, having a relationship with God does not mean everything will be wonderful - at least not yet. Not right now. Think of all the trials the first-century disciples had to withstand. Look at the laundry list of trials that the apostle Paul endured at 2 Corinthians 11:23-27.
This forum is much too restricted to explain to you in detail why you are going through so much. But there is an explanation. One of the best ways to endure tribulation is to understand WHY it is happening. So you are right to look for answers. It has quite a bit to do with the Bible account recorded in Job. It affects you and me and every human being. There is an issue being settled right now and during this time period all of us suffer to a greater or lesser degree.
But know this: if the God of love is allowing such pain among his human children, there must be a compelling reason, yes? There is. I promise you.

Well, I'll tell you what... someone should have pointed out the warning label. In this world you are now a target. Jesus even said don't be surprised if this world hates you because it hated me first. Also he said "Those who love their life will lose it, and those who lose their life for my sake will save it" It is very hard to be a Christian in this world today. Keep praying and ask for prayers from everyone you know even Heavenly Saints. We need all the support we can get. Continue to fight the good fight though. Win the race capture the prize--also read Job--he had just such questions.

This is probably the answer that everyone expects you will be given by a Christian, but it is true: Satan has no interest in atheists, because they are no threat to him. I agree that you should definitely read the book of Job, it can be both comforting and enlightening. A good thing to remember is; If you have never crossed paths with the devil it means you are going the same way! I'm sure nothing on this board can comfort you for the loss of your son, but the fact that you have kept your faith in the Lord throughout these troubling times will.
John 16:33 I have spoken these things to you so that you might have peace in Me. In the world you shall have tribulation, but be of good cheer. I have overcome the world.

Jesus was a man, and that's all he was, just a man. Asking a man into your heart isn't going to do anything. Just remember that whatever doesn't kill you makes you stronger, and you are the creator of your destiny. Life is a journey, and recently your journey has been hard. But there will be good times and hard times. It's time to realize that you are in control of your life, and just move on.

This is a question that is a difficult one to answer for you. Some people we know lost a child and they asked the same questions. James Dobson has written a book about where God is when things go wrong. That is a good book to look at and see if you can make sense of this. It should be at your library so you don't have to buy it.
God is with us in our trials and that is a claim that we know is true. God does not necessarily remove the troubles from us.

I'm sorry for your trials, especially the loss of your son. No one said christianity is easy, it's not. He answers all prayer, but sometimes the answer is no. The thing is, God sees the big picture, we only see the here and now. There is a reason for all things, we just can't see it. Sometimes I think life is just a test to make sure we're worthy of heaven. Don't despair, hold on to your faith, open your heart and He will lighten your load.

Please do not break your faith. Trust iin the Lord that you will come through this. I have had the same experience as you, since I have found Jesus bad times have happen to me too. But who is to say that these things would not have happened anyway and that by believing in Jesus, it has made us stronger in order to cope. Another thought, if satan wanted to cause a little havoc on someone, would he not pick a believer in Jesus rather that someone who sins without consience? Read the book of Job and Gid Bless you.
