What is her diet? If it is nursing, it's okay.

If it's bottle formula, it may be time to tell the pediatrician and try new brands or different types (like soy) to see if there's an allergy.

Yes, your baby might have reflux, but not acid reflux, just reflux from gravity, because an infants esophagus does not have a strong enough ability to hold the food down (sphincter). There is medication available for this, also other measures, such as smaller more frequent feedings, sit her up in a carseat for a bit after feedings, etc. But usually, as long as she is gaining weight and is otherwise healthy, it's not anything to worry about. It's just stressful to watch your baby spit up all the time, and have to change her clothes often. Ask her pediatrician if for some Reglan. It's a pretty safe drug, and ok to use in infants.

Isn't it amazing how much milk comes out?

Did this just start or has she been doing it all along? Not an expert, but it seems like a sign that something is wrong. Something easily correctible and not too serious. Do some detective work. Did you change something about the time that it started?

She may be allergic to the formula. Talk to the doctor about switching.

She may not be getting burped enough. When the child gets older, it is easy to not be as scared about doing every little thing right. Make sure that you take the time to burp her thoroughly.

well it could be acid reflux or you might just need to switch formula and make sure you are burping her every ounce or two.. it could be over filling her to is your problem. a one month old baby should probably only be drinking between 2-3 oz every 2-3 hours. My daughter had this problem and we actually found out she had thrush and that is what was making her throw up talk to your doc...

Try sitting the baby up for a while before burping this helps the milk to settle and she shouldnt spit up as much. The spit up always looks like there is a lot but some of it is stomach fluids to so she is getting and keeping more formula than it looks like.

If your baby is eating regular milk formula your baby is probaby having a hard time digesting this. I would talk to your doctor about switching formulas to see if this helps. Only feed your child non organic soy as a last resort. You may also talk to your doctor about putting your baby on Nestle Good Start. One other thing you may try before getting a new formula is a different type of bottle. Try getting the Dr. Brown bottles or The Parent's Choice bottles (Walmart Brand are good also). My second choice for a bottle would be the Playtex Nursers.

I had a similar problem with my daughter.
1) It could be that when you burp her she isn't gettting all the gas up. So when you burp her again, she spits up.
2.) In the beginning I fed my daughter a formula with Iron. This made her spit up ALOT. I thought she was lactose intolerant, but when I took her to the doc, she told me to get her off the Iron formula and use one that doesn't have added iron. She was much better after that.
3.) It is possible that she is Lactose intolerant, so use a soy based formula. They cost a little more, but at least your baby won't be sick!!!!
I really hope this helps you out....Good luck, and Congatulations on Your NEW BABY!!!!!!!!

Our baby girl did the same thing and we had to get her formula changed to lacto free because she was allergic to milk...and then after we changed her she still did it a little but he said it was normal for babies to spit up and that they still get all the nutrients they need from what they ate. although you friend is right it could be acid reflux but it is highly unlikely due to she is still really little and there rarely is babies that get that.

It is normal. If she has burp and she doesn't get it out and then she has milk ontop of it she will spit up all the milk on top of it.

Make sure you burp her often.

If she is crabby it could be the formula. It could also be the formula if she spits up like with every feeding.

It is normal but if she doe's it all the time it could be acid reflux. Check with your pediatrician.
