I do remember hearing at some time lucky dips have a slightly higher probability of winning a prize, but I suspect that's because a lot of people who pick numbers for the lottery use birthdays, thus excluding all numbers above 31 from their choices and reducing the likelihood of matching a large number of the balls picked.
