Do lucky dips on the National Lottery in the UK have the same record of success.....?

as numbers picked by the individual? Theoretically they should have but probability can throw up some weird anomalies.

I do remember hearing at some time lucky dips have a slightly higher probability of winning a prize, but I suspect that's because a lot of people who pick numbers for the lottery use birthdays, thus excluding all numbers above 31 from their choices and reducing the likelihood of matching a large number of the balls picked.
