there are regulations on wearing military medals, for instance you must have seen people with them on there right shoulder instead of there left, where a soldier would wear them, this is to distinguish between what you have earned and what your dad earned. if you are in the military you have to apply to wear them, so you don't go upsetting the wrong person, or offending people by mistake. If you really want to wear them, then you can go to your local British legion and they can tell you in what order they are to be worn, as well as helping you out setting them up properly.

I couldn't find any law or regulation for Remberance Day (which country are you in ? )... other than it is tradition to wear a poppy on your lapel.

In the United States, it is illegal to WEAR American military medals not awarded to yourself... at least in an attempt to infer that you were awarded them.

I like the tradition of displaying a shadow-box encasing the medals of deceased parent or siblings medals and awards.

I have mine made up already... though I hope my family will not need it for another 20 or 30 yrs.

My respect to your father... and to all those who served.

The law states that IF you are the child of the deceased member you MAY wear them but you MUST wear them on the opposite side of normal wear, for instance you would wear them on your left breast area.

IF you are in any doubt contact your local British Legion and they will check you have them in the right place with them in the right order.

And for those that are saying you can not, for the BRITS this is possible, as we have a huge day of remembrance and have the laying of the wreaths at the cenotaph and ALL the children of falling hero's can wear their parents ribbons and medals.......

You can NOT wear any part of his uniform tho, please remember that part

Wow. i think of that's so staggering of your fiance. My father wears HIS father's wedding ceremony ring as an emblem of remembrance, and that i think of it quite is a very perfect tribute to the numerous happy years that my grandparents have been married. This quite speaks to this kind of guy that your fiance is - you're able to desire to be proud to have him on your existence :) So make an apology for asking him to positioned on the ring on his top hand. in simple terms say, "Babe, now that i've got had time to think of approximately it, I see you're completely top. i think of you're able to desire to positioned on your dad's ring and that i would be commemorated to place it on your finger on our wedding ceremony day. i'm sorry that i did not know how considerable it become in the past." in case you nevertheless opt for to get him something, how a pair of astonishing watch? you are able to commonly get the lower back engraved, in simple terms such as you're able to a marriage ring. even if if he already has a watch he wears, it quite is astonishing to have 2 (my boyfriend switches between a leather-based-band look ahead to on a daily basis and a fancier silver one whilst he has to positioned on a tournament). you additionally can do fancy cuff-hyperlinks. Or if he's not into watches/guy jewelry, what a pair of gadget? i think of maximum adult men could be surprisingly stoked to get a GPS or an iPad or something, rather of a ring :) Or does he carry a briefcase or messenger bag to artwork? Or ought to he use a astonishing piece of baggage?
