Speaking from the viewpoint of "an Irish man". Go for it.
We Irish have no prejudice when it comes to affairs of the heart. I think this is why most people are at least part Irish.
My son (of course, Irish too) was dating a young lady of Chinese lineage and was having difficulty with her father. He had a problem with inter-racial dating.
I told my son to explain to the father, that as long as the Irish roam the earth, no one's gene-pool is safe.
We are truly the conductor for a one race world.
God bless the Irish and all who are at least a portion, thereof.
(By the way, my wife is slightly older than I and it's working out just great). So go for it.
To quote a very wise younger lady I once dated,
"Don't let numbers rule your life"... just keep it legal.
