There are so many, and except for Plentyoffish, they all cost money to join, except for Mate1 which is free for women. I have registered on a few of them, esp. the Jewish ones, and occationally get....smiles? winks? even emails. Of course I cannot respond back. If anyone seemed really interesting I suppose I would join but I have not come across anyone worth the $15 yet.

Anyway, this guy from my home town has been writing to me from POF so of course I can write back. He initially said he liked my picture and wanted to kiss me. I wrote back that I did not kiss people I didn't know. He keeps writing that he wants to get together with me and kiss me. (Hi my name is Sam and I'll be your stalker tonight).

So the question is, why are guys so aggressive on these sites? Do they really expect a woman to respond "I saw your profile, it says you like Mexican food, let's have sex"????????

Or am I just a prude?

Yes, it sounds like you are a prude. There is nothing wrong with that. You have your standards.

From what I have heard from other women. This is the conclusion I have come to.

Men on the internet have a found a little freedom for their sexual fantasies. So, they say or write what is on their minds, which of course sex. They are just pushing the limits. Which can destroy it for other men who are not so graphic. Whether it is a nice guy or a guy that expresses himself.

Do they expect you to have sex? Like I said they are pushing to see what they can get. Maybe it is your choice of men that is wrong.

In case you find the nice guy. You should be careful, meet in a public place, have coffee or a snack, and limit the first meeting to about an hour and leave separately. You never know who you are really meeting, nice guy, wacko, sex maniac, rapist, stalker, murderer, or your next door neighbor.

As far as joining a dating website, try www.faceparty.com it's free to join, email, and IM chat.

I have been single all my life. I have looking on the internet since 1995. I think I finally found the love of my life in Thailand. I can appreciate all the stories about finding the "one". You just never know where that will be. I guess my suggestion is keep looking.

Good luck.

There're different types of people on dating sites. But quite a lot of them hide under the influence of anonymity to say all kind of rubish things which they dare not say on 1-on-one basis. Some don't even have the gut to face you physically. My advice is that dating site is like casting your net in the river, it's bound to catch all sorts of animals; fishes, crabs, frogs, periwinkles..etc, as well as some non-living things. It then behooves on you to take what you want and discard what you don't want. Even among those you want you still need to get rid of those that you don't need. Get what I mean? right, Cheers and have a nice weekend. Would like to know you better.
