My son won't touch milk either :) I asked my pediatrician about it and was told to make sure he gets a multi-vitamin. He has a Flintstone Gummi Vitamin everyday. He also drinks Five-Alive and eats Cheese. You'd be surprised at how much Calcium your son is probably getting just from the other foods he eats.

First of all, calm down. Making an issue over food will cause more long term damage to your child than missing a glass of milk. My doctor and several other sources say that cow's milk is for baby cows, not humans. It's tougher to digest. There are other sources of calcium. The trick is not to make it a fight over food. At 3, and even younger, your son knows what he likes and doesn't like to eat. I would try sow milk, or rice milk, even goat's milk. And for heaven's sake don't put sugary junk in it. One of the things I've done with my kids is together we create a veggie platter. I let the child help clean and cut up (my hand over theirs holding the knife, big ego boost only for "big boys") carrots, broccoli, celery etc. Then we make a tiny dish of "dunkins" usually the favorite is ranch dressing, but yogurt is a good idea. The platter is down low on the child's little table and you'd be surprise how often they dunk and eat veggies during a day. They even offer it to friends. Food becomes fun not a "power play" with mom. You "begging and pleading" puts your son in charge and how can a 3 year old feel secure if he's in charge? Also, don't forget the power of setting a good example. He's watching you to see how to be an adult. Try dipping a carrot in yogurt, eating it yourself, and saying "mmm. yummy" (then ignore whether he does it too, he will later) Relax and have fun with your son, mama, you're doing fine.

see its not good to end the milk supply for three year child.its cool he is eating some dairy products but belive me dairy products just cant replace the milk . dairy products contain 10-20%of calcium only.and more of carbohydrates which is not good for a3 year child.while milk contain 40-60% calcium and rest isprotiens and lactose which extemly good for 3 old child.u try new flavours with milk ur child will like at least one and if he he will surly start drinking it.as he is to small he needs lot of calcium because he is in growing stage.or u could try some flavoured calcium stocks.or u could give him orange juice or bacroli whichis really arich source of calcium.and for development of bones not only calcium is required vitamin d is also necessary

There are juices and cereals that have calcium added to them, so that would be one source of it. You may want to try flavoring the milk with strawberry or buying the "pink milk" (my non-milk-drinking daughter loved "pink milk"). You could also make puddings or custards with milk in them. You could also buy puddings if the label says they include calcium. Are there custards made for toddlers (or other baby foods) that may have calcium? It wouldn't matter if your child is three or not. You could use baby custard as a dessert or snack. Your child may not know its baby food anyway. Have you tried different types of cheese or else tried toasting the bread and letting the American cheese melt (a toasted cheese sandwich without the grilling/butter)?

I can't vote yet so I shall say here "go Californi " what a great answer!!
Go the dip, yoghurt etc and don't fuss too much. I wouldnt be surprised that in a couple of months he wants milk. Smoothies ....have you tried them? Made with yoghurt, fruit etc
Milk shakes made out at the shops? Buy one for yourself and see if he wants to share!!

I dont know the amount of calcuim that a three year old needs but maybe you could try fortified orange juice or other calcuim fortified foods. Broccoli is actually a good source of calcium, if you can get him to eat it.
