Dao or the Great Dao (先天大道) is the Way, the Absolute Reality, and the Ultimate Truth. It is without beginning and end. It is neither conditioned by space and time nor restricted to any form. It is that Omnipresent Principle which underlies all things in the universe and cannot be separated from them in any instant. If it can be separated, it will not be Great Dao. And God is The Great Dao. God is beyond and much more than being a person. Agree?

According to John Lennon... "God is a concept by which we measure our pain."

Gods in general were an early manifestation of human kind created to help answers questions that we just have no answers for. Multiple gods were created to justify basicly what we didn't understand. Gods were created for the Sun, Moon, Water, Fire, etc.

Eventually Monotheisim took its foothold in the late Roman Empire and the "Many Gods" approach that had been followed for thousands of years was replaced with One God. This is what is not followed in Arabic, Christian, and Jewish belief systems.

I feel in its early development that God (and the Gods before It) was a noble idea but its time has passed. We now have developed as a society to the point where we know what causes the world around us to act as it does.

We no longer have to pray to the Rain God for water for our crops, Sacrafice our first born because we think the Sun God is punishing us during an eclipse, or make donations to our local church to ensure our place in heaven (for some of those Religions that support that type of thing). Science and common sense have shown us the way, now we should be intelligent enough to put God(s) in the same file cabinet as the Easter Bunny and Santa Clause.

A stupid concept that exists in people's heads.

Many religions that believe in god (notice the lower-case g) try to 'prove' that he exists. They get tangled up in a web of hypocrisy and confusion.

If he exists he created the world and left us to run around confused, searching for the answer!! However, why was there bacteria on Mars? Maybe a higher intelligence or force where all life comes from, and we evolved from that backteria!!

We must repent!!

If you are asking what God is as where he came from how he originated then that is a question that has no answer because it is not our place to question God and the things of heaven. But if you are asking who then anyone can tell you he is love he is our creator he is everything, But only you can determine what God is to you.

IMO, "God" is whatever force was responsible for the original creation of the universe. Such a force, in whatever form it takes, logically exists, since the uiverse is here, and such titanic power is as worthy of the name as anything else. I see no reason to think that God is a personality in any sense that we would understand. I also see no reason to beleive that God has ilnterfered in the world since it came into being, and certaily not on the tiny scale that we would be able to understand.

As far as I know, I am the only one who thinks this way.

In the begining was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God
An the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, ( and we beheld his glory, the glory of the only begotten Son of the Father ,) full of grace and truth
No man hath seen God at any time; the only begotten Son, which is the bosom of the Father, he hath declared him

God is LOVE plain and simple, and while you are reading these answers, the true ones are the ones that give you a chill while you are reading them, that is God's way of letting you know HE is the way and the only way, through His Son Christ Jesus...

I think the question here should be "Who is God".
God is the beginning and end of all. The Alpha and Omega. God will have final rule.

God is the Creator of all things. "In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth" (Genesis 1:1). God has no beginning or end, because He has always existed. As the Bible says, "Before the mountains were born or you brought forth the earth and the world, from everlasting to everlasting you are God" (Psalm 90:2).
There is nothing more satisfying than to know God in a personal way. God loves you and gave His Son to die on the cross for you. He gave His life as a divine sacrifice that you might be forgiven of sin and have eternal life. Jesus said, "I am come that they might have [eternal] life" (John 10:10b). This is God's free gift to every one of us. The Bible teaches that we are all sinners (Romans 3:23) and deserve the penalty of sin, which is separation from God. When we realize that our sins separate us from Him, it is our privilege and responsibility to turn from sin unto Christ in true repentance, with faith in Him as Savior and Lord. In taking this step we become a part of God's family; see John 1:12.

To receive Christ as Savior is a transforming experience. Not only do we gain a new dimension of joy, peace and purity, but we find all things become new; see 2 Corinthians 5:17.

God is the Creator of all things, and all people. He sent His Son, Jesus, to die for the sins of all humanity.

If you do not accept Jesus as your Lord and Savior before you die, God will be the One who sentences you to spend eternity in the Lake of Fire.
