My best friend is a girl (i'm a guy) and we get on great, but some days in school we dont even talk. We are both 15 if that matters, and there have always been rumors flying around about us. Today for example, I only talked to her during the last 3 classes, before that we barely said hi. Also, the thing is that when we do talk she seems to be more honest with me, like if I ask her how she is she will tell me if she isnt feeling great (whereas with most other people she will just say fine or something). So, why do we not talk at all so often? With other girls whom arent as good friends with me, I can joke and mess with whenever I see them, but with her it is only if an actual conversational chance comes up, like if we are standing in the same group. (We don't just shout out hi to each other from accross the room--which I would with other people) Despite this she is my best friend, but I am just wondering why it is awkward sometimes.

Act a little more friendly with her like you are with the other girls. Or drop this and tell her you like her more than just a friend. Good luck.

She probably feels more awkward just randomly coming up to you in front of a bunch of people, especially if there are rumors. I know I do the same thing... I only talk to my best friend (who is a guy) in a group, phone, or when we really have time to talk. High schoolers have nothing better to do than start rumors about other people and no matter what they are, it affects the person it is about. Maybe you should try to give her a call or meet her for coffee and ask her (nicely) what's up. If she is as honest with you as you say she will probably tell you if you ask. :)

I think the best way to find out what other ppl is thinking is to ask them....It is possible that she feels more for you but is concerned the feelings aren't reciprocated, Maybe she is embarreced about the rumours and may like you very much but be trying to stop anymore from getting around. It could be many reasons...one thing I have observed though is that ppl can act in ways other than what they are feeling, so even if you feel she is acting standoffish she may feel the opisite...find a time when you two can talk when others aren't around and just say, hey we get on great but I feel that you seem a little distant, whats up?.......she will respect you being upfront with her and she will hopefully be able to tell you whats going on.

Maybe it's because she senses how different you're with her than with your other friends, and maybe that causes her to feel a bit awkward. And then there's this rumor flying around thing, this may make her feel even more awkward. I think she feels different about you as well, since she tells you what she thinks of how she feels but not to the other people. Try to relax and do not push things, and don't try to explain anything about the rumors. They will die as time goes by. Be sure that you don't lose this friend. Good luck and best wishes.

She has mixed feelings about you.... and she isn't sure exactly what they are....
She is a bit shy , it sounds like and this could be embarassment...
She is not like all the other people you know, because you have a good and deep friendship... With her kind of people you don't have to be with them 24-7 and talk to them all the time. the connection is there and you should realize this.
The fact that she is truly honest with you means she trusts you with anything and is not afraid to say so... This is a wonderful thing to have in a friendship...
Keep on being who you are and let it build itself... if she is really interested in you as bf material she will let you know, or you could ask her out....Don't rush her,, she is creating a good and strong base with you... the trust issue is such a biggie in a relationship.
Don't worry you are closer to her than you think....

15 is a strange age so don't worry u like each other abit more than friends but being at school and rumours can make or break a friend ship so she is bieng like that to protect the friendship and to stop the rumours but to be honest it moer likeley to start more so get together on a weekend and ask her what is going on why she ignores uat school for half the day

maybe the rumours are what make it awkward, maybe there are "special" feelings begining to brew, and it scares both of you. you should talk to her about it in private tho. maybe there is something between you two that you aren't seeing and everyone else is. you are in a very delicate situation here and must be careful because you might do damage to the relationship. talk to her and be honest. only you and her can resolve this. you know each other better than anyone else.

I can see why it would be awkward if you have as many exclamation points in your real life conversations as you do in your written questions.
Perhaps you should relax a little, and just work on being a good friend. Perhaps your friendship relationship will develop into a romantic relationship.

tell her and let her know that u feel like things are not the seem with yall. i have a best friend and we go threw all kind of stuff but we seem to get it back in line . Sometimes you have to reach out to the ones that you luv . It will be ok just keep it real with her REGAIN YOUR FRIENDSHIP GOOD FRIENDS ARE HARD TO FINE.
