The above poster did a good job but he neglected that the Parts Manager reports to General Manager. Parts Manager is responsible for Parts Department. Some Parts Managers report to Service Manager.

For places like Koons Automotive (http://www.koons.com) with over 20 dealerships in MD and VA, there is a centralized management office which hires and fires General Managers - BUT they are accountable only to themselves and not to the owners (in this case, the Koons extended family). Each of the 20 Koons dealerships has separate ownership - which is likely the forementioned management office. The management office also hires and fires comptrollers, human resource managers and even service managers - one service manager in College Park became service manager who operated from the management office.
