Death may be sometimes a blessing....and with friends like Job had and a nagging wife to boot...it is a wonder he stayed true to God and didn't curse him and die...but he did not...and he remained faithful and was blessed in the end for his right attitude.

Oh, that is called giving up. Throwing in the towel and making the other guy the winner. Job wanted answers, not just to be pissed. He was an example of how to ask the wrong way (really!) and how to endure (chosen by God to show it).
Socrates was busted for creating deities, gods, and misleading others....condemned to die by poison....... I wonder if he thought it was a blessing as he was drinking it

job spent too much time with an imaginary god, and not enough with his wife. There is no evidence for this.
Socrates was a small ugly man, and probably didn't get many roots. There is some evidence for this.

It was not wisdom, but foolishness. I am not impressed with Socrates. His writings are not inspired of God, and therefore irrelevant.

you wouldn't want to curse God and then die, that's like cursing out a bully and then running to his neighborhood to escape.bad advice.
