Are you referring to just the Latinos and the dark-skinned ones... or ALL illegal Europeans and Canadians, too?
Why is this considered racist? Because YOUR forefathers were not under the same scrutiny as the so-called "illegal" immigrants, nor those hoards and waves of immigrants that came here form Europe during the 1800s and 1900s. The same laws do not apply to these recent arrivals as for those that arrived during the 1800s to the 1940s/1950s.
Why is the proposed wall ONLY going up by the Mexican border only, and not by Canada?
(Canada, by the way, has been our good neighbor in times of natural disasters and have been the ONLY country to offer us help and aid... not any other nation in the entire world! I have nothing but praise for Canada but... why is it that only Latinos are "illegals" when there are also many other nationalities but they're also of lighter skin? THAT'S my point)
As in past generations, these immigrants (legal or otherwise) make significant contributions, and are among the first to don a uniform to proudly represent this nation, and protect YOUR rights as well as mine. Remember one thing: there were people just like YOU saying very similar things when YOUR FOREFATHERS came to these shores... but they stayed and became "Americans," the same thing these now so-called "illegals" are trying to do.
Consider this: they are trying to support a family and do for their families as YOUR parents did for you. Taxes? Their employers are taking taxes out their pay and keeping it; blame the crooked employers that underpays them and over-works them (14-16 hours for 6 days and pays them less than the going minimum wages). Companies that get tax breaks, tax incentives and so forth, do not pay their fair share of taxes and they send jobs overseas where women earn less than men, or they have children forced to work in unsafe and unhealthy and sometimes unsanitary conditions for a few dollars a week, instead of having those children in school; the men get paid far less than the chump change they would make here! They are exploited in their own lands by American companies that ship American jobs overseas... and you take it out on those that come here to do the jobs that most Americans refuse to do for the low wages they are forced to accept?
Then you wonder why this Nation has so many enemies? By welcoming these people in, you stand a greater chance of being protected from terrorists from other countries... these grateful "immigrants" would come to your aid, but that hasn't ever occurred to you, right?
It shames me that this country has such insensitive and uncaring people such as you. You and your ilk make a mockery of what this country once stood for! I guess you've never heard of the worlds, "Give me your tired, your poor,/Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free,/The wretched refuse of your teeming shore./Send these, the homeless, tempest-tossed, to me:/I lift my lamp beside the golden door." I bet you also call yourself a Christian!
Aren't you the lucky one that you had to do nothing to be born on this side of the border? Aren't you the lucky one that your forefathers got here before the laws were changed?
Aren't you lucky to enjoy the same rights, freedoms and liberties that Americans died for, Americans of every color and religious persuasion and every ethnic background that were once immigrants? Only in America can idiots and morons have the right, liberty and freedom to express their opinions... without being jailed or killed or tortured... ONLY IN AMERICA, ain't that great? Or maybe good ol' Dubya will change that, too?
You ARE correct. "Illegal" is not a race, but the use of being an illegal alien AND a Hispanic or of a non-White race as the sole criterion for being "kicked out," as you say, THAT makes it racism and bigotry. I suspect that you already know this but you're just trying to play stupid... and you've got ME convinced, Pinkoh!

The same people who claim it is racist to want all illegals to go back to their home country are the ones who would wave a Mexican flag for their cause. This is America, last I checked, and our flag is red, white and blue. The racism expressed by flying another countries flag here is what needs to be addressed by illegal alien supporters. The first word an illegal alien should learn is "Illegal". It means they have committed a crime and they should be punished. Unfortunately, our govt. has ignored the laws in favor of the cheap labor these illegals provide big corporations which profit enormously while giving little back to our own citizens. Illiminating illegal aliens would actually force these companies to pay a living wage and stop discriminating by choosing people who speak Spanish instead of those who were born in an English speaking country. It is not racist to want illegals to go home. It's patriotic! Anyone unwilling to apply for citizenship and wait their turn to come here like the rest of the world should be punished to the fullest extent of the law. I don't care if the illegal immigrant is Mexican, Polish or Irish. I agree with you that the word "Illegal" is not a race, it's a fact. Keep speaking out on this issue as I do and hopefully we can get this country to wake up and distinguish the difference.

The concern with the cultural, economic, environmental, and security impact of the influx of immigrants does not necessarily arise from racist, xenophobic, or supremacist beliefs.
It is the result of American citizens own experiences with the efforts of a large and expanding immigrant population in their communities.
The fact is immigration is the significant factor in U.S. population growth and over use of the countries social and health and education programs by illegal aliens.
Security, economy, and party interest are well and good, but the fundamental issue in immigration debate is who we are and what sort of nation we want to be.

Its not racist to want all illegal aliens to be stopped from coming here or to be forced to leave.Its the race card that the liberals and pro illegal supporters use when they don't have a valid argument for their cause.There are a lot of racists that have jumped on both bandwagons and are using this forum to incite and inflame both sides of the issue.I am not a racists but it doesn't bother me when people say that because to me it only means they have run out of good reasons for their side/either side and have resorted to the tired old worn out race card.I am a stanch anti illegal alien,but I define my stand as being more pro-legal American than anything else.

The outsourcing of our jobs as we buy cheap imported goods and so effortlessly do the bidding of our politic ans,we are misdirecting our energies on the wrong topics,when we kick out the illegals we will outsource the last of our national commodities cheap food,since we squawk about illegals and do not do so about jobs moved to India and leave fellow Americans with great mortgages to pay and no jobs to sustain them,we are such hypocrites,and the rest of the world is laughing at us.we have a plaque on the Statue of Liberty,do any of the fellow Americans know and embody the meaning,it starts bt saying GIVE ME -----,The Islamists believing in exterminating all of us what do we as Americans believe?

It's not racist. The pro-illegals who scream racism have lost the argument.
The other side talks about obeying immigration laws, health issues and the sovereignty of the U.S.
The pro-illegals would have to argue AGAINST obeying laws, shrug their shoulders at diseases being brought into the U.S. and then dismiss the idea that the U.S. doesn't have a right to protect its citizens.
So therefore, they scream racism because otherwise they'd look like anti-American dimwits.

THANK YOU! I have been wondering that question for SOOO long now! When the hell did illegal immigrants become a race? Damn, these things these idiots come up with...whats next I wonder? Are they going to classify every singe American white? (oops, they already do that....)

It is not racist to want all illegals out, but it is racist that some of you say illegal Mexicans, beaners, spics, wetbacks etc this and that. I have seen that the word illegals is refereed to only Mexicans in this forum. If you doubt it, check all the past questions and answers asked and answered before. Just because 75% of illegals are made up of Mexicans doesn't mean it's ALL of them, it is just like saying all whites are racist.... when 90% are but theres about a 10% that aren't... it is the same thing. Some of you categorize one race into a category that only some of them (or maybe most) of them fit in.

It became "Racist" because that plays into the hands of those who OPPOSE any restrictions on immigration.
Makes it simple to rally thousands of Latins in the street... play on the sympathies of the more liberal... and avoid a law that ENFORCES the laws already on the books !!
It's just that the vast majority of illegals are of Latin-American descent... and more visible

It is racist only as a debate definition. The immigration issue has taken a page out of the African-American strategy playbook to quell argument. The weakest argument, philosophically, is "have mercy", or "oh, have pity on me".
To point the finger at the other faction you change your argument to "you are a racist".
