how one should answer the question- "tell me about yourself"? in the interview.what are the things to be kept in mind while answering this question.what are the points should be included while answeringthe same?.

Tell them about your education, experience that is relevant to the job, strengths, and why they fit for the job. But keep it brief.

make a few points, but keep it brief... give them personal information that you wouldn't necessarily put on paper, but can relate back to your resume or the job.
for example;

"i enjoy mountain biking and backpacking with my family... it's really taught me a lot about problem solving and being self sufficient when i need to be"

OR

"i travel frequently... i have really learned to get along with all sorts of people under different circumstances"

above all - be honest and be relaxed and confident, Many times interviewers will look at your personality under the pressure of an interview as much as they will the answers themselves.

They have their resume in front of them.You can sum up some of the points you have already made. This gives you a chance to steer the questions on to the territory you are safer on.

The interviewer will immediately be back on his/her own side of the fence. Remember they are just as nervous as you are. If you want to do well in the interview, keep the control.
