No I would strongly recommend not to do this. Assistance Dogs charities (Guide Dogs, Hearing Dogs etc) advise owners never to put the dogs name on it's collar, leash etc. The reason for this is that if the dog is stolen you will need to be able to prove the dog is yours and this can be tested, in part, by calling its name. The dog is also more likely to obey and adapt to any new owners if they know its name. On a more practical basis, if the name is clearly displayed, people might call it when you are out and about and this could lead to an accident if your dog ran into a road or it could run off and get lost. It is best to simply have a disk with your phone number on the dog's collar.

I personally would not. This is a personal preference because I have seen and heard too many things go wrong. As mentioned above, service dogs must be able to be identified by the owner/handler by name. Microchips help nowadays but it takes time to find someone or soemthing with a scanner while a name called out could work almost instantly. Also, it could lead to confusion later on in stores or parks etc. I personally only buy leather collars/leashes/muzzles and fur saver collars. The collars only go on when we go out or when we are doign agitation work/protection work with them. Besides that, they ahve their fur savers on all the time. I dont' like nylon or cotton collors or leashes because they stretch and can rip apart. Bet be is to just get a nice leather collar for you dog. check out www.fordogtrainers.com they have a great selection of collars for dogs... mostly medium to large dogs but maybe you can find for a small breed if that is what you are looking for.

I Wouldn`t it`s cute but it cost to much just buy a special collar to show personality and style or u could put your own fancy touch on the collar or leash or whatever else and it makes you feel good about the way u design it and u get to strut your stuff while walking or showing your cute or handsome pet off!!Also if u have little Kids calling your dog when trying to get his attention u will have a big mess (Hint:U means You)
Hope I Helped BYE!!

Those leads are cute, but usually made of nylon. I only will buy & use leather leads - they are stronger, last longer, look good (stay clean & new looking with a little saddle soap & neatsfoot oil) , and give you the best grip & control.

NO!
Once had a problem at a pet store. I was trying to get my then over excited 9 month Dane under control. The children around me heard me call his name. They began to call him. He got even more excited! So I wouldn't want his name on a lead. It would make matters even worse.

No,, I wouldn't,,, why make things easier for a thief to identify the dog. My Phone number is a far better form of identification.
