We need more info - what year & model? What's the GVWR (look on the door jam)?

When you look at trailering capacity (GCWR), you also need to look at the payload in the towing vehicle. For instance, if you have a 10,000 GVWR K3500 with a dump body and a load of mulch, you're asking an awful lot of your vehicle trying to drag an additional 8,400 lbs.

I don't think it would tow that much very well with that ratio. With a 4:10 it maybe would, but not very well, since it's still not very much torque for that much weight. A diesel or the 494 would be your best bet for towing that much.

you should look at your reciever hitch or bumper and it will say what the max tongue weight is , if not i use my 1/2 ton truck with a 5.7 [350] to pull my 2 horses and horse trailer around everyday . that about 2000lbs a horse. not counting the trailer and it operates fine.

you mean 6.0 liter? the only 6.2 is a diesel from the 80's and early 90's...unless you mean the new cadillac 6.2 liter v8.
