My brother moved home with my parents about 4 months ago. All he does is hang around and play computer games and go to movies and go out drinking with his friends. He's 25, and has a masters in philosophy.
It doesn't seem to bother my parents, but it really bothers me, because they seem to be under the impression that he's actually looking for work. But he's just mooching.
Should it bother me this much, or should I just ignore it?

You should ignore it. If your parents want to put up with it, that's their problem and their money. Just get on with your life, and let them have theirs.

It should have been pretty apparent he was going nowhere when he decided to major in philosophy! It's not exactly the kind of degree you get if you want a real job ;)

I say if it's not bothering your parents leave it along. When siblings start pestering parents concerning other siblings all it causes is stress for the parents..believe me I have gone through it. It is very unfair to do that to a parent. We love all our child and just because we may let one come home for a time does not mean we love that one more than another. UNDERSTAND!!!! This kind of nonsense caused a lot of stress in my life and my husband's. Don't do that to your parents....please.

Great question! I feel the same way...my brother, 38 years old. Moved in almost 3 years ago with my mom (63 years old) and my grandma (97 years old). Three years have passed...he's had a few jobs here and there, but nothing that has lasted. Now he just moved his girlfriend in too (they live in the basement). They don't help pay ANY of the bills and I'm soooooooooo angry. I don't know what to say to help you, but I'm just letting you know I'm in the same boat and I don't know what I should do.
