I know people personally and hence letting you know. Tons of illegal immigrants and tons of illegal employers too. They take advantage of immigrant's illegal status and pay them very less wages. Typically 6$ per hour while if he is legal, he might get a minimum of 10-12$ per hour. Here I'm talking about the lowest paying jobs. Of course if you talk about posh jobs, you will get more.

They work in jobs which pay LESS than minimum wage. This gives business owners more room for profits. Its a win-win situation. Sure, it's illegal but both sides have a good thing. The illegals have jobs in USA (not enough jobs in Mexico) and the boss has all the leverage.

There is a pretty good system set up throughout the US. Its like a noncentralized network that helps get them in touch with employers and apartments that will take them.
I don't see how they get apartments or houses though. I have to show prove of residency when I get a place. I have to provide id an prove of employment.
