If there is nothing that’ll make you lose your faith, be honest and say so. If there is anything that’ll make you lose it (or at least question it), what would it be? Could evidence that evolution is a fact work? Would evidence of the big bang convince you? Would evidence that all studies on prayer have shown that it is ineffective do the job? Could it be proof of your holy text contradict itself? Could it be historical proof that shows one or many accounts of your holy text is false or obviously made up? What about parts of your religious text obviously being plagiarized from an older religion? What?

Personally, I have found a “yes” to all the questions there.

I was myself a "born-again" Christian for a few years. I guess god "called me," but his cell phone provider must have dropped the call. Switch to T-Mobile (just kidding).

Why do I get thumbs down? I'm not asking you to change your mind or giving you proof of these. I just want to genuinely know if there is something out there that'll do the job.

Perhaps yes
when you ask about theists you are obviously refering to christian theists, a common mistake amongst atheists
to cover some of your points against christian theism in particular...
Firstly I will explain to you that theism means belief in a god, any god, theism does not necessarily mean christianity.

Now evolution, I know that moths of certain species have different colours and those surviving with dark colours will predominate in areas with dark trees, likewise the light moths will survive better in areas with light trees - call them different species and now you have evidence of evolution. The wolf has many variants, the domestic dog more chihuahua, rottweiler, alsation, their bones show great variation, yet they are all the same species unless you class wolves as different species.
The big bang theory and the currently accepted age of the universe is more of a problem to currently accepted christian theism.
Now as to the biblical text contradicting itself I have read skeptics commentaries of the bible.
One example is that astrology is evil and occult, then the skeptic shows that God created the stars for signs and times - this is proof the skeptic says that the bible contradicts itself, when God created the stars for navigation and dating (signs and times) not astrology.

The texts can contradict themselves in any way you interpret them to - navigation can mean astrology if you like, and dating likewise

Let me ask you as an evolutionist

If you have all the amino acids and pyradine bases, sugars et al required for life, what is the chance they will randomly combine into DNA or RNA capable of self replicating?

If you can work out the probability you will be a theist if not a christian

Hello friend
I notice that the more scientists t to disprove the existence through science the more they have to admit the evidence of a higher intelligence. Even Einstein said those words when studying the atom.
Also take a good looks around at the perfect and beautiful balance in nature {excluding man]. Think about the universe and its perfect order and the honey bee. These things did not happen by chance!
The big bang theory and the order in which the earth was created are in harmony.
I do not know what studies can be done on prayer? The Bible says that prayers must be in harmony with Gods will. Do you think He would allow such a study. That is putting God to the test.Satan tried that in the Garden of Eden. Look where that got us?
Jesus told that there would be an apostasy after His leaving the earth when men would start to break away from truth. They sure did a good ob at that.So what most religious believe is not in agreement with the scriptures.
I can give you ch more detail on any of these questions but I am only allowed so many words here.

No to evolution as a fact ... I already believe evolution occurred, and I also believe in Genesis.

No to evidence of the big bang ... that just shows how God did it.

No to evidence of ineffective prayer ... I saw that report, and it was flawed scientifically, according to even the chief medical correspondent (who is a phd of medicine) at ABC news.

No to contradictive text .... so far all I've seen is evidence it is true, in my own life as well as in the text itself.

No to historical proof ... every year I hear of more and more proof that these things did occur.

No to plagiarism ... I find it interesting that people will believe one lone copy of a small piece of script, yet won't believe hundreds of copies of biblical text around the same period.

I'm sorry, but none of this would make me lose my faith, as it is untrue and incorrect.

Although I was born into a muslim family, I started to question Islam and faith since I was very young. Atheists had tried to talk me into believing there was no God. I kept on researching the web - went through the most anti Islamic sites, also went through Islamic sites. The sites only defied eachother and said things only against eachother. I decided to see for myself which side was true - and the truth had rung on me. I researched other religions and found them to be lighthouses to lead to the real truth - God's true religion, the religion Islam. I m glad others have found the same path - God bless them
Even Through all the negative media on Islam, we cannot deny the fact that Islam is the fastest growing religion in the whole world. Islam is turning as clear to us as it always had been. I ask Allah for forgiveness about the fact that I was so rebellious in my youth, favouring science to anything Islamic. But now i Know that science is just research which is everyday showing us the truth of Allah, His prophets and the Last Day. I will always be proud of the fact that I had found Islam through researching it, considering everything accused (wrongly, ofcourse) against it. I have understood Islam, Thank u Allah. I hope all who havent known true Islam find it with their heart - They do not know what they r missing.
Ever since my enlightenment, many of my friends, ahteists and agnostics have started to embrace Islam. Those who had been muslim r stronger than ever in their faith - Thank u for ur question - I hope it lightens those whose hearts have been confused with deception and misconception. I hope what I say helps. Peace be upon u.

This is not a question but simply an attempt to harrass. We Christians have more than the evidence of our faith, for Christ Jesus lives within each of us. We have through faith in His finished work on the cross a personal one a one relationship with Him. We simply not only believe in Him but know Him. Some of your statements are plain lies and we know who the father of those are. You will except the theroies of man but the actual work and love of the Good Lord you mock when all of Creation shouts of His Glory. Seek ye the Lord while He may be found, for His Spirit will not always strive with man. I pray you do just that for He is waiting to save you and show you the love we true Christians already know without doubt.

No, nothing at all. History teaches me I do not need to. Even the things that at a time seems to make no sense in Quran and Sunnah when related to science, with the progress of science are later proven right and science wrong. So when there is a contradiction, I know science is still growing and limited.

One must understand that people long ago didn't have the
simplest education. They had to be taught in story fashion.
Once one matures enough to get past that. They will find
that religion, though corrupted by mans wisdom, is not
just based on a few books. But on 1000s of years of human
experiences.

NO there is nothing. "Nothing can separate us from the love of God." I would only accept it if God Himself can down and told me but then I would still have to believe. "All that I have seen teaches me to believe in a Creator which I have not seen."

When you ask Jesus Christ to forgive you of your sins and make him true Lord of your life, then he puts his spirit into you. This is what true Christians mean by being born again. Once this happens to you there will never be any doubt to if God is real.
