Please provide me with your most definitive proof of the non-existense of God. OR explain this paradox,God created the heavens and the earth (angels and men) yet he saw it neccesary to create Satan and (in omnipotence) divinely create me (having the full knowledge that I would fail).

Anxously awaiting your intelligent reply ie.don't tell me to have faith in anything. It's time to make me a believer not just a follower.

Also, don't try and convince me that "Nothing else could do this...but a GOD." Nobody can guess what did this. To propose that your god is responsible is nothing more than faith based "begging the question." That logic will find you toe-to-toe with every other religion claiming that," all the best is us...all the rest is them."

Convince me, or convince yourself.

To those persons noting that it is impossible to prove non-existence, my apologies. I should have more accurately typed "evidence" instead of "proof."

To all Muslim responders, thank you. Even though we disagree, you provided compelling arguments and posed interesting questions to be resolved. I will research your links further.

To all Christian posts: You all did exactly what I requested that you not do which is to advise that I have faith. This only shows that you have no proof of your God's existence other than your collective belief. That really ought to make you nervous.

To all Atheist/Agnostics:
Is God willing to prevent evil, but not able?
Then he is not omnipotent.
Is he able, but not willing?
Then he is malevolent.
Is he both able and willing?
Then whence cometh evil?
Is he neither able nor willing?
Then why call him God?
-Epicurus

Instead of choosing a best answer, I will let you decide.

There is essentially "god" but not that humanoid mythological thing that was invented by ancient storytellers. The true god is nonjudgmental, nonintervening, infinite and encompasses all things -- the cosmos, in other words.

first: how dare u to talk about god like that??!! , anyway i believe in god and i'll give a proof from my religion(islam) plz read it first then reconsider it.first about a beliefand faith:
Muslims believe in one, unique, incomparable God, Who has no son nor partner, and that none has the right to be worshipped but Him alone. He is the true God, and every other deity is false. He has the most magnificent names and sublime perfect attributes. No one shares His divinity, nor His attributes. In the Quran, God describes Himself:Say, “He is God, the One. God, to Whom the creatures turn for their needs. He begets not, nor was He begotten, and there is none like Him.” (Quran, 112:1-4).
God alone is the Almighty, the Creator, the Sovereign, and the Sustainer of everything in the whole universe. He manages all affairs. He stands in need of none of His creatures, and all His creatures depend on Him for all that they need. He is the All-Hearing, the All-Seeing, and the All-Knowing. In a perfect manner, His knowledge encompasses all things, the open and the secret, and the public and the private. He knows what has happened, what will happen, and how it will happen. No affair occurs in the whole world except by His will. Whatever He wills is, and whatever He does not will is not and will never be. His will is above the will of all the creatures. He has power over all things, and He is able to do everything. He is the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful, and the Most Beneficent.
God is far removed from injustice and tyranny. He is All-Wise in all of His actions and decrees. If someone wants something from God, he or she can ask God directly without asking anyone else to intercede with God for him or her.

the Origin of the Universe:
The science of modern cosmology, observational and theoretical, clearly indicates that, at one point in time, the whole universe was nothing but a cloud of ‘smoke’ (i.e. an opaque highly dense and hot gaseous composition).1 This is one of the undisputed principles of standard modern cosmology. Scientists now can observe new stars forming out of the remnants of that ‘smoke’
The illuminating stars we see at night were, just as was the whole universe, in that ‘smoke’ material. God has said in the Quran:
Then He turned to the heaven when it was smoke... (Quran, 41:11)
Because the earth and the heavens above (the sun, the moon, stars, planets, galaxies, etc.) have been formed from this same ‘smoke,’ we conclude that the earth and the heavens were one connected entity. Then out of this homogeneous ‘smoke,’ they formed and separated from each other. God has said in the Quran:
Have not those who disbelieved known that the heavens and the earth were one connected entity, then We separated them?... (Quran, 21:30)

Dr. Alfred Kroner is one of the world’s renowned geologists. He is Professor of Geology and the Chairman of the Department of Geology at the Institute of Geosciences, Johannes Gutenberg University, Mainz, Germany. He said: “Thinking where Muhammad came from . . . I think it is almost impossible that he could have known about things like the common origin of the universe, because scientists have only found out within the last few years, with very complicated and advanced technological methods, that this is the case.”2 (To view the RealPlayer video of this comment click here in the site ). Also he said: “Somebody who did not know something about nuclear physics fourteen hundred years ago could not, I think, be in a position to find out from his own mind, for instance, that the earth and the heavens had the same origin.”

As Iknowtruthismine said, your negative statement can not be proved or disproved.
However, your basic assumption are wrong. I can't 'prove' that either, but I do know what the Bible says.
God created the heavens and earth, that is the physical universe. When did he do that? No one knows, the Bible just says "In the beginning". (I am sorry, but the description in Genesis really sounds a lot like 'the big bang' theory.)
He did not create Satan, the perfect angel that he did create choose to try for a takeover. That angel has the same thing that we have, free will ~ the power to choose. (I know, whether freewill exists or not is another argument.)
While pro-creation and birth are absolute miracles, each and everyone of the 6 billion or so people walking around today are miraculous, we are, in fact the result of some very simple physical acts. Sperm meet egg, Egg meet sperm. Voila! texaspicker0.

Oh, I am very convinced.

I believe strongly that God exists. I can prove it logically based on proven laws of science.Just one small question. What ever matter you see around and up above in the sky, where did it come from?As per proven laws of physics matter can neither be created nor destroyed. Even the big bang theory assumes that universe came out of cosmic egg. But how did the egg come about in the first place? There is no way to explain it unless we take recourse to a supernatural power whom we call God.Are you convinced?

Depends on your definition of God. Seems easy to me to prove that the Yahweh described in the Bible doesn't exist - try prayer and see how it doesn't work, for example.

The problem is that theists constantly move the goalposts. 'God creates thunder! He must exist.' 'No, he doesn't.' 'Okay, God creates earthquakes! He must exist.' 'No, he doesn't.' 'Okay, God creates...'

Whenever science takes something from God's hands, believers just redefine God so that he still must exist. They are now entirely on the defensive and talking about 'can you explore the whole universe and prove that there is no god anywhere out there?'

A bizarre concept to say the least - okay, there is a god sitting on Jupiter. Well, what use is that to me here on Earth?

I find proof irrelevant. 'You need to have faith'.

Well, I have faith in the non-existence of God. Call it faith, call it belief, call it blind, I don't care.

I have never felt God's presence and never had a reason to believe in it. By faith, I am an atheist.

Nonetheless, I am one.

No point in denying it or hiding behind infinitesimal possibilities.

I answered a similar question the other night, though I have to say, yours was far more intelligently asked and far more respectful than the other, so I must thank you for that.

To answer the first part about the proof of the non-existance of God, you need only look in the Bible. Seriously. I read it this summer myself and found surprising evidence and contradicton within its pages that only reaffirmed my nonbelief. I don't have nearly enough time and space to make every point that I could from the passages I marked, but I can give you the same two as before that are right off the top of my head.

Let's start with Adam and Eve. Could never scientifically happen. For a species to survive, there must be a certain number of unrelated pairs. One pair cannot sustain or give birth to any species. Period. The female could not, in her lifetime, bear enough children to make enough pairs.

And if she could, the third generation would be inbred. While inbreeding may not necessarily lead to the exaggerated deformities people think of whenever they hear the word, there ARE significant problems with inbreeding, such as weakened immune systems. Since antibodies are passed from parent to offspring, if the gene pool shares all the same antibodies, the immune system cannot strengthen itself against the inevitable mutations of viruses and bacteria. It wouldn't take long for the common cold to become deadly.

This chain of thought also debunks the tale of Noah's Ark. Should Noah and his family somehow manage to exist as stated in the Bible, the same problem would be faced as it was with the tale of Adam and Eve. While you have a better chance at the numbers game with the human population of the Ark(counting Noah and his wife, plus his three sons and their wives, you have four pairs), you still have the inbreeding problem. Once Noah and his sons are all gone, then those grandchildren, were there no other humans on the planet but themselves, would have to interbreed with each other.

Again, even if it were accepted in those times, there are still the same genetic problems. It'd be even worse for the animals aboard, as there were only TWO of any given animal, one male, one female. Those animals, should they beat the numerical odds of survival, would be inbred into the third generation.

Then there's the tale of Jonah and the Whale. Or giant fish, depending on your version and take on the story. Save sperm whales, whales tend to have a big maw, but a throat that is only about a foot in width. While a whale could probably swallow something as big around as a canteloupe, they would choke on Jonah, who was obviously much larger.

And if somehow the Whale/fish managed to swallow a person, that person would certainly not survive the encounter. They would suffocate or be digested, take your pick.

As far as the paradox, I'd hate to answer your question with a question, but I have to say; "Who created God, if God created the world?" Chicken or egg time. Did God come first, or did people? Did God create himself, or what?

Paradox questions aside, perhaps God meant for us to be sinful, that "salvation" wasn't his point at all. God creates heaven and earth. God creates angels and men, including Satan(going by the fact that Satan was originally a fallen angel). God eventually creates us, even though we're going to sin and fall and, well, from a Biblical standpoint, go to hell. If God created us to sin and go to Hell, in essense, if he created us to be HUMAN, obviously, he made us this way.

God made us fallible and sinful and loved us anyway. Perhaps humanity was just an experiment to him, to create, toss in some sin and chaos, and see what we do. Like putting a mouse in a maze, to see what it'll do to find the cheese at the end. Life is the maze, humanity is the mouse, and God and/or Heaven is the cheese.

Or, from a nonbelieving, non metaphysical/spiritual standpoint, that paradox is a key to proving that the Bible was written by man, not God. Because if God was fully omnipotent and all-powerful who wanted people to live perfect, sinless lives, he would have created us that way, not made us to be fallible.

You cannot prove a negative assertion. If I said the third planet in the Alpha Proxima star system was covered with a three foot layer of French brie and told you to prove it wasn't, you would not be able to even though the assertion is ridiculous.

In as much as I was not around to see how everything came into being (and neither were you),I say, "I don't know ..... YET!" To assume that some god, my less than intellectual ancestors made up, instantaneously farted the universe into being, is absurd

Quantum physics describes reality as a hologram. The existence of god is subjective, it depends on the person, whether or not they choose to believe in a god or not. The only concept of god that a person can have will be through their personal reality. The physical universe, on every level, is actually flashing in and out of existence many, many times every second. At its most fundamental level, the universe, and all of its contents, is best described as pure abstraction. i.e. the absence of being. As for me, I believe in god because of what I believe reality is; all that is, is what god would be if their was a god. God and reality/existence are the same thing to me. So, everything that I know, or don't know, everything that I can describe as part of reality, is god.

Angels in Heavan have free-will like us, and Satan chose to rebel against God with his free-will. He also convinced a third of the angels in Heaven to rebel with him;and the consequenc....They(Satan and other rebeling angels) got themselves booted out of Heavan.
You and all other inteligent life in the universe to have the choice to choose to do right or choose to do wrong. Unfortunately, starting all the way back with Adam and Eve. Humanity has chosen to sin, witch is why Jesus Had to come and die for our sins

It's real simple,Believe in Christ and His word, and you get into Heaven when it's time for us to rise and meet the King of kings. People who dont accept Christ will end up in that other place; and let me assure you, the other place be no way, shap, form, or any means is enjoyable.Only pain, angony, suffering, and torture.
So I pray you make the right choice.

God Bless :-)

Believing in god is by faith and by the grace of god.He knew you before you were born and knew that you would type this question too! When god calls on you you will know.He is the same to day as he was years and years ago.He knows who needs more proof.Like me! I was like you I wasn't sure there was a god.Until one day I was putting clothes away in my room and my tv was on in the livingroom I had it on for the noise I guess because I wasn't watching it but as I turned out of my room the tv stopped playing I looked up and in in the middle of a black screen in white bold letters it read (yournotrightwithJesus) just like that.It scared me I left the room and it started back to the tv show.( I wasn"t on drugs either never did a drug in my life)But I know it was god. When god calls for you, you will know him.I will pray god shows you away too! A good book to read is The purpose driven life by rick warren. It will help you understand. But one thing I can tell you is living for god is hard because the devil will fight you all the way.He wants you back! If the devil doesn't fight you Its because he already has you! God will always be there for you and help you through.By faith and only by faith.
