I have a friend (Seriously, this is not me), who was beaten black and blue by a bunch of born again christians for not accepting christ. He was in a coma for two days and had a lot of broken bones. He mended okay, but when it went to trial, because of a technicality the guys who beat him were let off the hook. They all praised Jesus and didn't seem to be concerned about the fact that they hurt him.

Recently he told me that if Jesus were to come back, he was going to beat him the same way those guys did. He wants to get his hands on Jesus and tear him apart. There is this look in his face that is indescribeable. I have never seen anyone with that expression before. I think it's raw, unadulterated hate. I think he's dead serious, that no matter what laws or barriers are in his way, he would not hesitate to go after Jesus if he could find him.

I know he needs some kind of help, but my question is this, is he dangerous for this desire to do this?

NO, its not a mental health disorder per say. He Might have a Adjustment Disorder. He is angry, which is understandable and he is putting that anger on God (which a safe place). The important thing is he is not hurting himself, others or using drugs.
Yes he needs to see a counselor that specialized in Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. Find a good one in the US by going to the American Mental Health Counselors Association website. Or if he has an employer access the Employee Assistance Program,
Let him vent, talk and be his friend. Do not push things. If you feel he may hurt others or himself call the police immediately. They can get him the right (mental) help. Good luck

His angry feelings are completely normal. However it is strange that instead of wanting to hurt those terrible people he wants to hurt a prophet who has been dead for a couple thousand years. His experience was obviously very traumatic and unless he gets some good trauma counseling from a therapist who specializes in this his anger could turn to actions on other people later in life. Trauma counselors/clinics/therapists can be found in the phone book or on line. Offer to go with him or talk to his family about helping him through therapy. Support make a huge difference.

a little disturbing but I wouldnt say its a mental illness. He's just gone through an ordeal that shook his nerves a lot by the sounds of it. I guess I can understand how he feels to a degree but it could be dangerous for him (emotionally) if he cannot let it go in a fair amount of time. I guess it could also be a little dangerous for others around him who peeve him off, good on you for looking out for him though, just observe his behaviour & try not to encourage him to act out any kind of hatred towards anyone. Poor bugger, might do him some good to get some post traumatic stress councilling, not head shrinks but just someone to talk to & give him a little guidance on channelling his anger in a productive way. Damn bible bashers.

Your friend has some serious unresolved anger, and needs healing as well as some closure to this trauma.

I suggest you get him to the best psychologist you can. Jesus is under no threat, but I worry that your friend may hurt some other Christians, not necessarily the ones who abused your friend.

So, to say it another way, the danger is greatest to your own friend, that he might get in another violent incident, and either hurt himself or others.

My father has a mental disorder which makes him difficult to live with. I can completely understand why someone would divorce or separate from someone with a certain mental disorder, especially if it makes the person with the disorder violent or abusive.

Sounds dangerous to me...but he wouldn't have to worry about laws should he try to 'kill' Jesus....if Jesus is here, (physically) I think the government laws would no longer apply...and I don't think he'd succeed....but you....er, HE should get some professional help!!

Some Christians trying to force their beliefs on others. I would wont to kill them as well. Its natural for your friend to want revenge, maybe he should nail them to a cross and torch it, I would
