My 2 1/2 year old does not want to potty-train either. I am letting HIM make the decision on what he wears (pull-up or underpants) and I let him tell me when he wants to try to sit on the potty. My almost 4 year old son has just finally gotten the poo in the potty (although we still have those kind of accidents from time to time). One thing that I do is let my 2 1/2 year old run around naked at home. That is beginning to teach him that "feeling" that he needs to recognize to know when he needs to go.
I would not pressure your son about the poo. If you put too much pressure on him then he may not want to go at all and that could lead to constipation, which leads to painful BM's and not wanting to go even more. Just let him let you know what he is ready for and when.
He may decide that he wants to wear the underwear on his head (as mine have)........and let him, at least he is "wearing" them (LOL)

Dont put the diapers back on. Then all the hard work you have done training him will be gone. You will have to start over. If you are at home, I would just let him wear the pants. If you are going somewhere I would put the underware in the pants and then put them on him. He wont be able to see the underware. try this route.

my 3 year old didn't want to go poo in the potty either, he would pee, but he couldn't quite grasp the whole poo thing. if he seemed like he needed to go i would take him and sit him on the potty, this didn't always work but it did sometimes. then i started to tell him that he needed to "feed" the potty and pretended like the potty would "eat" his poopies when he'd flush them away. even now he's saying that he has to put poopies in the potty and then when he's done he likes to count them to see how many they are and if they are big or little. it worked for us. but if your child doesn't respond to anything then he's not ready. we went back to diapers 3 different times before we really got anywhere. it's normal

Get him pull ups. They put pictures on them now to make them appealing I guess. I've heard that some even change colors when they are wet. Tell him they are big boy pants.

LET HIM DO AT IT HIS OWN PACE. MY DAUGHTER IS 3 1/2 AND WE HAVE BEEN POTTY TRAINING SINCE SHE WAS 2. STILL POTTY TRAINING TO THIS DAY. YOU CANT "PUSH" THE CHILD. IT'LL MAKE THEM NERVOUS AND THEN THEY WILL REFUSE ALL TOGETHER. GOOD LUCK. BE PATIENT.
