I would say all of the above. But more because the parents are not practicing what they preach. You can take a child to church every Sunday or every day but if they see mom and dad only giving lip service to their faith they will not honor it. I will add that some children have a conscience and some do not. There are those who are being raised with a conscience who's only faith is in themselves.

Religion belongs at home, if theres none there, its up to the parents to provide that, it doesn't belong at school, unless the parents put them in a religion specific school.

School system... whats wrong with that? concience and moral issues are things that should be taught at home.

TV and video games, again, if these are being over-utilized, its the parents's fault as well. its their responsibility to regulate the kids's entertainment.

video games are not inherently problematic.... in fact some can be very good, but in moderation appropriate for the context and age and so on.

boils down to the problem being negligent parents, all the problems your referring to, are things that should be what the parents deal with. to blame it on religion, school, or other things, only perpetuates the problem.

look at the change of how many kids come home from school to an empty house, compared to those who come home to a parent being there, or at least an older sibling. look how that ratio has changed over time. hell I'm not even 30, and when I was in elementary and middle school, the majority had a parent home, and it was the scarcity for a kid not to, and everyone felt sorry for em.

You are making a gross over generalization, if a child has no conscience it is because their parents didn't teach them right from wrong. My daughter attended public schools, watched TV, played video games, and was taught various religions so she could make an informed decision on the proper life path for herself. She graduated an honor student, doesn't smoke, doesn't drink, doesn't gamble, never did drugs, never been in trouble with the law, has chosen to serve her country in the armed forces, and was a virgin at her wedding. By your logic she is an example of someone with no conscience, since she was raised in the manner you denounce.

What do you mean no religion? There's the catholic schools.

Just be cause children misbehave doesn't means it's just video games and TV or school system or no religion. It's also how parents behave around their child or how they teach them.

what's up with people saying video games and TV or schools system bringing their child's lives down hill?!? Ever thought that parents aren't teaching the right things? Correcting their own child's mistake? just because a child goes to school doesn't mean that the child's going to come home with a perfect conscience!

My children have a conscience. The thing about a conscience is that it has to be nurtured in order to develop to its full potential.

And children really need to be raised by adults.

We demanded that God get out of our schools, lives, and country and some people actually wonder why the world is what it is. God is a gentleman, so he has stepped back to let us see how much we REALLY need him in our world.

The younger generation are going through a spiritual awakening, something the oldies whouldnt understand, also I notice a rash of fundamentalists having children but never really thinking about what a negative influence they, as christian fundamentalists, have on society. children have been abused misheard neglected beaten and now you assume they have no spirituality? what kind of heartless person are you?
