Could be one of 2 things:

1)Hyperplastic pulpitis: The nerve in the tooth is sick and it is causing the pulp chamber to grow inside the tooth, giving it a pink appearance. Should be extracted

2)Baby teeth get real hollow before they come out. Sometimes the gum tissue gets trapped underneath the hollow tooth and inflames. If this is the case, the tooth should be loose and on its way out soon.

My advice would be to pull it yourself if its pretty loose, or otherwise see a dentist. If it is a hyperplastic pulp, it could be at risk for abscess.

Discolored Baby Teeth

I agree with LitMatch and I'd vote for his answer. No. 2 is more likely, since you said "discolored tooth" rather than describe something hanging out of the tooth, but No. 1 is certainly possible.

I would take him to another pediatrician and get a second opinion or see a children's behavioral specialist. Sounds like there might be some sensory issues there or possibly autism. If he has never eaten "regular" foods and has always been like this, there may be something non-physical that is causing him to do this. It's normal for kids to be picky eaters and refuse certain foods, but since he has always done this is a possible red flag and should be checked out, even if he doesn't show any other signs of delays or other issues.

Most 10 year olds have lost their baby teeth by now. I wouldn't worry about it. I am sure it will be gone soon. It could be from other things besides food: a mouthwash, fluoride treatment, medication she has taken in the past, you may have a lot of iron in your drinking water, etc. I would be more concerned about her adult teeth.

Maybe he ran into something that made his tooth bleed from the inside and made it pink.
