For spelling, correct it. This Answer Forum has a handy "check spelling" box. Most modern typing programmes have a spell-checker built in, including Google and Word.
When you go through it's suggestions, you will (over time) learn the correct way to spell the words you are getting wrong. Microsoft word also has a grammar check, which would catch things like "i" instead of "I".
For your vocabulary, the best way is to read - a lot - and have a dictionary to hand to look up the words you don't know. You can also look up most words online. If you're in school, you should check to see if you have free access to the Oxford English Dictionary (OED); it's the biggest dictionary in the world.
To really improve, read a page or two a day from a large dictionary or encyclopedia. It'll take you years to finish, but when you're done you'll be far more educated than you are now at much less than the cost of going to Harvard or Eton.

If you had been been born on a desert island with no people and 1000 books you wouldn't know how to pronunce anything but you'd know the spelling of every word in those books. Reading/Spelling is just another language (a language of the eyes) and you didn't even know you were bilingual.
4. any set or system of such symbols as used in a more or less uniform fashion by a number of people, who are thus enabled to communicate intelligibly with one another.

The best way to improve vocabulary and spelling is to read!Reading on a regular basis is helpful in many ways. You don't say what your age is so I'll give general advice.Another way is to pick up some of the practice booklets that many bookstores sell. You could give yourself some little quizzes and follow some of the guidelines in the books.Whatever you do it will have to become part of your routine so that you will see a steady improvement.good luck!

The best way to improve vocabulary and spellings is to read a standard newspaper daily and try to solve the crossword puzzle also.If you are in India , I recommend "The Times of India" ,in the U.K. it is the London Times and in the U.S. it's New York Times or The Washington Post.

Get a dictionary and become familiar with the words. Seriously, this is very helpful. Also, you could write the word the definition and then put the word in a sentence, this will give you plenty of practice writing the word. Good luck and God bless.

my dad would always say to read and read books to improve vocabulary and spelling when me and my sibblings where just in grade school. i guess its very effective! we did well in our english subjects and the rest. my dad at 65 has a very sharp memory too. he says that wen the mind gets lazy or is not exposed to reading it becomes rusty, and memory is affected. try reading, newspapers, novels, magazine, whatever is of interest to you. happy reading.
