The best way to find out is to look at your "RE code" on your seperation document (DD-214). If you have a 1 or 2 it won't be a problem but I'm sure you probably have a 4 which means you are most likely not reenlistable into any aremed forces. Your best bet is to bring your DD-214 to a recruiter and ask them.. The Army and Marines need everyone they can get right now.

If you already haven't been brought back in (because you still have a Federal warrant out for your arrest, in case you didn't know) then you really should turn yourself in.

The option is either to wait until you get pulled over for speeding one day, they run your ID and you're tagged, or you can just take yourself to the nearest military installation (preferably Army, and goto the MP station at the main gate) and get incarcerated. You will more than likely be returned to your unit or origin (if it still exists) and then be Chaptered out of the Army. That means an admin discharge if they want the paperwork to be fast, or full UCMJ action and a Bad Conduct Discharge or worse.

Really, you screwed up by not fulfilling your obligations in the first place, and if you wanted out, you should have talked about it, requested a Chapter, gone through the whole wringer and then come out with an admin discharge or General Discharge under Other than Honorable Conditions. For five years (and this is if it's you we're talking about) you haven't been man enough to face the music, and now you're just making trouble for everybody.

Turn yourself in and get Chaptered. Really, it's the only way to get the millstone off your neck and the best thing you can do.

suited case state of affairs, is to checklist to the MP station of the closest militia positioned up. The longer you're AWOL the extra severe it extremely is going to be. once you come back to place up, save your mouth close, get you atty. based on the area, you ought to be finding at something from dishonorable discharge to reformatory time. i've got considered the two take place with AWOL. you may not run consistently, as quickly as you get pulled over for a rushing fee ticket that's going to pop up on the reveal screen and you'd be arrested. come back, furnish to end your settlement time, and ask to receive a common discharge.

during war time a soldier can be executed for desertion, AWOL gets you some adjusting, but once your discharged the military will not take you back. unless that is a very last resort. I hope that you did not turn your back on brave men and women because that would be one of the worst things a human could do.

Im sorry but in my point of view it is a crime that you left your duty
but if you were discharge from the service bacause of some minor offences you can possibly go back.
But if you left the service without valid reasons it is difficult to bring you back in the service.
Being a member of the armed forces your job is to protect, you have a very wide range of responsibilities if public service is concerned.
But I salute you.

AWOL- yes,, after punishment,, but disertion is tougher,, you better have a good reason,, and even then it might be tough.
