It could be a few reasons, if it's cold yes that will make them shiver but if he/she is puffy and stays that way for a while could very well be sick and need to see an avian vet ASAP, if it's a hen with eggs she could shiver also, or just keeping balance is also a reason. Hard to tell without more information..........
edited due to more information.......ok well then you can rule out the cold and the egg issues...is he beak grinding while he is doing it? if so then he's just relaxed and no big deal but if he gets puffed up and remains that way and shivering for any amount of time and not eating and acting normal than needs to see a vet......

As for the bird being male, people have been wrong before. Unless you have had him DNA sexed, even vets could be mistaken.
Some other things to look for, has he been eating normally? Is his poop the same as usual? If you know how much he normally weighs, has it changed? Are his feathers as smooth, fluffy, whatever, as usual? Are his eyes bright and clear?
If any of these seem amiss or you don't know, take him to a certified avian vet within 24 hours. If all of these seem normal, take him to a certified avian vet within 1 week. If you can't find a certified avian vet, try a non-certified avian vet, or at worst an "exotics" vet who says they do birds.
Best wishes.

I don't think it's because they are cold or sick. I think it's a "settling in" thing. I have learned too, that a healthy bird sleeps with one foot tucked under it....a sick bird sleeps on both feet.
