You overstate the position, the Bible was derived from many sources and constantly revised and re-written over the centuries. The Flood story, for example, came from the epic of Gilgamesh, the Birth of the Savior at midwinter and the Star overhead were from the Birth of Mithra, the Son of God begotten on a virgin and the religious ritual of eating his flesh in the form of bread and drinking his blood in the form of wine came from the Greek legend of Dionysos, all of which predate their inclusion in the Bible. The God who dies and is reborn is a fairly common theme, usually derived from the Year King, who dies at the end of the harvest when winter starts and is reborn in spring with the planting. Osiris and Odin are other examples, one could even draw a parallel, though it's really reaching, between Jesus hanging on the cross and Odin hanging from the wind swept tree. When the Romans incorporated Christ into their state religion they declared that Iehova was another name for there Sun god, Sol Invictus, that was the origin of the nimbus, the rays of the Sun around the head as a sign of Holiness which you see in Catholic art, and it is from that we get the Halo. Most of the Christian holidays are also derived from Pagan festivals, but that is another subject.

Your friend is full of lies. The Holy Bible was translated into english around 1592 (King James). It originated from hebrew scripture found throughout the Holy Land. True events were written down and put into the longest lasting, best selling book (the word of God), the Holy Bible! Your friend should feel the power of the Lord!

Yes, the Bible is a copy of a copy of the scriptures of the original Christians. Most of today's Christians are that just in name only. Almost a completely different religion than that created by the Apostles.

You are mistaken. Islam is the most tolerant religion. To every people has come a prophet. Every religion predating islam could be a true religion that has been corrupted by time. It therefore contains true teachings as well as innovations. A true teaching of christianity is what jesus said quoting deuteronomy 6...hear o israel the lord your god is ONE and you shall love him with all your heart and all your might and love your neighbor as yourself. An innovation of christianity is that jesus was a demi god and that only through him can we be saved. It is obviously self serving to christians and equally obviously implausible. God loves the whole world. He would not create native americans as hell fuel until the day they were defeated by white christianized invaders. Christianity has strains of beauty and tenderness and obvious spiritual truth which all people including muslims admire and respect. Christianity is the only religion that says only through this path can you be saved. There is a perception that simply by existing islam has insulted or rejected the teachings of the christ. Any objective obserer would have to see that there are two religions that follow hand in hand up to a certain point. At that point one of them takes flight into fantasy and delusion of grandeur while the other remains steadfast teaching the oneness of god. Muslims have always been allowed to marry christian women. I've known many arab muslims who love and revere their christian mothers...they will go to great effort to take their mother to her church. Their father taught them. Islam does not oppose christianity. Throughout islamic teacchings are that god made us different that we might know one another. When christianity comes to know islam it will not feel so insulted by its very existence. The absense of knowing is called ignorance.

If you look at most religions, you'll find parallels. Almost every major religion has some sort of a Great Flood story. It's enough to make one wonder if there wasn't some original religion that (gasp) EVOLVED out of that original one into the myriad faiths we have today.

It's my understanding the Bible - being in two parts was originally from the Hebrew's. The Old Testament from the Torah and the New Testament from the time of Jesus Christ. Since the Jewish people came out bondage from Egypt I can see where you might of got the idea. No...the Jews did not base the Torah on Ra.
