Something crash diets have in common is that they require you to eat substanstially fewer calories than normal over the duration of the diet. Your body burns those calories at a normal rate at first, but with fewer calories being eaten, soon 'rations' the calories you eat. In other words, you are training your body to burn fewer calories. At the end of the crash diet, you return to eating the number of calories you would normally eat (if not increase the number of calories-most people are pretty hungry after a crash diet). Your body still burns fewer calories because of the 'training' you gave it, so you end up with a large number of calories getting stored as fat instead of burned as energy. Take a wild guess what happens to all that fat.
Just try different kinds of exercise-most of the people I've met that said they hated exercise just hated the usual 'push-ups, sit-ups, run' that we Army types do everyday. All it took was variety, finding something fun. Just think, even if you, by some miracle, find a diet that works to help you lose weight (without sacrificing nutrition), what good will it do to have a 'cottage cheese stomach'? You've seen them, the girls that hardly eat anything, but don't exercise. The skin over their abdomen looks flacid. You don't have to go for washboard abs or a six-pack, just tighten your belly up a bit.

Most of the time, yes. The problem with starvation dieting, which includes crash diets, is that it causes your metabolism to slow down, which is the exact opposite effect you want. When you resume a normal diet, you'll pack on weight fast, and perhaps gain even more than you had before.
It's not nearly as much about your diet as it is about your metabolism. All the dieting in the world won't work in a permenant fashion if your metabolism isn't boosted somehow. And the only healthy way to boost your metabolism in a long term manner is to exercise regularly.
I know, its hard at first, but you don't have to go crazy. Even just some light exercise a few times a week is a great start, and you'll find that it gets easier and easier. After awhile, you actually start to crave it! Additionally, there are a lot of other health benefits from regular exercise, including better mental fitness, increased energy levels, lowered stress levels, lower anxiety, increased confidence, and less risk of developing a number of illnesses including some cancers, heart disease, and diabetes.

Crash diets are detrimental to the body, it messes up the metabolism of the body to burn off fat in the right way and also of calcium loss and can cause bone deterioration. The best way I have found is to eat more fruits and veggies, and moderate exercise, walking briskly , swimming..etc.. no heavy weights ! Continue this , I lost 30 lbs.

Crash diets are great for quick weight loss and quick results, But you MUST take vitamin supplements at the same time. Once your stomach has shrunk a bit, you won't desire as much bulk food, Keep up with your vitamins and pick the weight you want!
