I feel the concept of freewill and God do not go along together at all. This was the the straw that broke the camels back when I left christianity for good. Some clergy will say that yes God gave you freewill and it is your choice what to do with it he will not interfere but he will judge you on the choices you make with it. Then, you have clergy like the type mine was who said you have absolutely no freewill, your life is predetermined and your pattern of sin set for your lifetime.

If clergy cannot agree on if there is freewill or how God uses it in terms of humans how are we expected to believe that it is something that is divinely given. I believe freewill to be something built upon by early learning and learning how to make life decisions and the more we do it, the more we learn how to do it correctly without impinging on others.

God gives you free will... so don't try to blame him for your behaviour... He gave you the ability to choose! Why would he change your behavior. There is no fun in forcing someone to love you! So you have the choice!
What more could you ask for?

Yes God is able to change our behaviour but chooses not to.

What if the only choice we have is against God? And that it takes a (loving) God to predestine, atone for, save, and keep His own? That would answer both of your questions. God is able to change our behavior by grace with the gift of faith, and He is able to do so since he is God, and he is willing to do so since he predestines His own from the beginning. And it's scriptural, it's called Calvinism.

God is willing to change our behaviour but not willing to force us to change.

He only wants those who truly, willingly have the character He desires.

He wishes everyone would have that character but the truth is those who don't have it would be miserable in a perfect world like the one He will create when this mess wraps up.

For them heaven would be hell because they wouldn't enjoy it there.

God has granted us the luxury of choosing and deciding, for that he has given us conscious, the conscious decides what to do , and what is the desire of god, when we go against our conscious are we changing and defying god,the thing that may be wrong for the world but if your conscious allows you to do it then do it as it is the will of god and it is right thing and that is what you were born for and that is your role in this world

God is able in one sense and not able in the sense it goes against his/her nature. God allows freewill for many reasons. One these reasons is for spiritual growth earned via the vehicle of God given opportunity.

Yes we have free will. God can intervene but chooses not to so that we can learn from our mistakes and come closer to Him.
