James Earl Jones, the famous actor, cured himself of stammering by practicing speaking slowly and clearly in front of a mirror, then in larger and larger groups of people.

You could also consider seeing a speech therapist, they can give lots of good insights and tips on how to improve this problem.

ok I have that same problem as well, and I'm 24. I've stopped going to therapy due to medical school due to the lack of time (and also studying in the Caribbean). Is it stress related? Medically they say no (because its not proven), but stress may induce stuttering. Here is a training method that works:
1) Try to elongate your vowels.... first start slow... like 6 seconds per word. TRUST ME it sounds stupid, but after words you'll cut it down slowly and you'll be doing a second per word. for example:
HOOOOOW WAAAAAASSSSSSSS YOOOUUUUUR DAAAAYYYY?
Its called the "easy onset method"- research it..... and carefully hear people like James Earl Jones talk (yeah he stutters and uses easy onset)

There was a prog on the telly in the summer, you probably saw it? It was about a place in London where stammerers were helped to learn how to slow down their speech.. dunno where it was though, sorry and good luck with your search. You're ok-keep going.
