Within common usage---"the envelope" is considered the generally accepted framework or "container" of accepted norms
For one to be refered to as---"pushing the envelope"--is to say that the individual is attempting to EXPAND the accepted norms by reaching just that slight edge further
This is NOT to say that the person is OUTSIDE or TOTALLY BEYOND the accepted norms---just simply pressing the acceptance levels of the norm for a slightly broadened view---
He is actually telling you that ---in his view --- you are somewhat exploratory in your actions or ways when it comes to the ---Accepted Norms !!

Well, that probably means that you annoying him to much and you should back off before he does something he'll regret. Eg: breaking up with you. I know it sounds harsh but it could be right, and thats what i'd think it means.

depends on what he's talking about. i'm guessing it's sexually. it means you are going within the outer edge of his boundaries of what he's usually comfortable with. GOOD FOR YOU!!!
