Depends, do you have any common interests? I recently took out a woman for the first time and we both love music... singing and listening to it... so we had a nice dinner and then went to sing karaoke for a while.... find something you BOTH have mutual interest in...talk on the phone first to get an idea then propose a game plan... if you line up something that holds both your interests, you are less likely to be bored, more likely to have fun and WAY more likely to make it to a second date....as i did :-)

You should talk about your backrounds... where you grew up, what kind of families you came from, where you go to church, what your priorities are...

Also, try "quizzing" each other on your favorite colors, songs, movies, etc..

As for where to go.. The best places to go are surrounded by lots of people - like a restaurant, a park, shopping in the mall, etc..

on the frist date with my husband we kept it simple. we talked about where we were from, our families, common intrest, and where we see ourselves in ten years. oh and of course jobs. a public place that is easy for you to talk, like a resturant or coffee shop somewhere simple
