There are only two possibilities for Jonah:
1) He survived miraculously.
2) Like Jesus, he died and was resurrected, after 3 days.
Either way, no sleeping bag would be required. Perhaps a snorkel, or a SCUBA tank?

Actually he was on a three day fast.
Matthew 12:40 For as Jonas was three days and three nights in the whale's belly; so shall the Son of man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth.
