According to your other posts, you are 19 years old, an illegal immigrant, previously arrested for inappropriate (lewd) conduct in public, and now this. Aside from the fact that your writing style runs from proper grammar to two different ethnic variations, the timeline on this most recent rediculous story makes no sense at all. If it is true, then you were no doubt detained because of your prior arrest(s), whether you had insurance and vehicle registration, and questions about your immigration status.

Do not listen to Jan Frost. First of all, how would she feel if a kid on a bike ran out in front of her car and she hit him/her, then they tossed her @$$ in jail for 3 days? There are such a thing as an accident. If the police find the kid is at fault, it doesn't matter if you killed them, they cannot charge you with vehicular manslaughter. I watch courtv and cops on a regular basis. However, since the kid left and the cops didn't have proof on what happened, then yes you have a right to file the biggest complaint ever! You're being nice just to file a complaint, and not contact a lawyer. I would have contacted a lawyer immediately. Where is innocent until proven guilty in this situation?

Sorry you went through that.
I witnessed something similar where a crazy kid rode his bike down a hill against traffic. Lo and behold, a car hit him. I was the first to tell the cops it wasn't the driver's fault. But instead of referring the kid to juvenile matters, they let him go...
Not much for you to do now, I'd stay on the lookout and find who the heck the kid was. Then refer the matter to child welfare, because it seems someone slacked off on his supervision, or the kid is out of control, and it could have killed him. Good luck

You have a VERY good case against them for false arrest and false imprisonment. The only thing working against you is that you will NEVER,NEVER find an attorney to REALLY and Adequetly defend you and FIGHT for you! Oh sure, you can PAY an attorney $5,000 up front, and he WILL promise you the MOON! BUT, YOU WILL be screwed! These judges and attorneys are ALL in bed together! Your fate has been decided WAY before you get to court! OH, The jury! Well, let me tell ya! Your "attorney" and the "prosecutor" as well as the "Judge" already KNOW the outcome of your "TRIAL" months in advance!!! Juries,THINK they have the final say, only the facts are hidden and evidence altered to make a jury "vote" as planned by the system previously. Most likely, your fate "like mine" was worked out or "Bargained" in a bar somewhere! Really!! Juries have absolutely NO SAY in a courtroom!! They, "like us" are merely pawns in their "little game" Most jurors would be appalled to learn the real facts behind their convictions. The system "COUNTS" on the fact that they NEVER will, and 99% of the time, they`re RIGHT!! I guess, what you don`t know, won`t hurt ya!!

You're lucky they even said sorry, that is unusual. The fact is, you don't get nice food or great treatment in jail, that's just how it is. I don't think there is anything you can or should do, they did their jobs. Be thankful it was nothing worse and no one was seriously hurt.

if you really wish to pursue this further, contact your lawyer for procedures or paths to take, depending on what you want to get out of this, but you should be aware of what you are up against before you do anything. all of it could come back and bite you in the @#$

Be grateful you didn't kill the child.
Why does everyone want to sue someone or want compensation. Get over it. You're dead lucky it wasn't worse. Count your blessings!
