I've got stuff like exposure, aperture, shutter speed, ISO, positions of holding the camera steady.....is there anything else I could talk about?? The speech should be around 5-10 minutes.

Hello!
Sounds like you're on the right track, but perhaps you should go into more conceptual aspects such as whether the intention of the photographer affects the reading of the photo. Or whether photographs can provide a factual recording of the reality of a situation. Or the ways in which photos are used to push certain viewpoints.
Consider the WTC tragedy in 2001. There have been thousands of equal or greater tragedies and killings all over the world for thousands of years, yet this event has assumed an almost singular importance in history. And emotive photographs of the tragedy and aftermath have played an important role in moving Americans to accept the invasion and systematic crippling of other peoples' countries without significant resistance.
Photographs have been constantly used as a graphic reminder of the WTC incidents, and to stir up anew the sentiments that America must be avenged.
Not that an American tragedy is really any more important than any other country's tragedy. The difference is that when we have a tragedy, we don't start invading random countries on the other side of the globe. What I'm getting at is that America is the most image-swamped and media-accessible nation in the world, yet they're getting very little coverage of the dozens of people being killed every day in the invaded countries, of the people left homeless in a third world country where they don't even have a proper government to turn to for help. Images are being used to inflate the importance of American deaths over any others.
Excuse me if I've been a bit blunt.
Or you could look at things like composition, colour, black and white, various finishes.
Or the various genres of photography, such as documentary, war photos, fasion photos, art photos, personal photos, photos as evidence etc.
I think that would really help to flesh out your speech, add some depth to it.
Good will! I hope you succeed.

You could use the silhouette of the images you took to some how get a person from the audience to cover part of the image and then reveal it.
You could also mention things like colour balance or geometric balance of some of the things in your photos.
Perhaps if you have a good macro or closeup or unusual photo you could ask the audience questions, like "guess what is the image?"

you could talk about the human eye perspective in relationship to the camera perspective, a practical demo could be a simple demo, wherby a view is described by one person, then a photo is taken of the same view, and differences discussed. We all have fond memories of a view...but the photo shows us a far more distant view than we recall.

you could go on to talk about grain and film size ie 35mm ¼plate etc and how the increasing pixels of digital cameras make large format film cameras unnecessary.

Why not pick out one of your favourite photograhers and speak abouy how their work has influenced you - concentrate more on subject matter and emotional content than just technical. After all, photographers are more than technicians (I am one)!
