were off to goa in december and are being taxed if we want to sit together on the aircraft if we dont pay thomson were not gauranteed seats together is this normal seems like a rip

Yes it is normal although it is a pain, onboard they will normaly try to sit familys together if poss (i know i do) but to be honest as long as u check in early enough it shouldnt be a problem. I wouldnt pay and check in early and if you still dont get sat together when u get on the plane ask the crew to move you they normally will.

Well, not quite. You see, you are to blame really. Many moons ago, air travel was expensive. Indeed, the correct cost of a simple flight to Paris is just under £400. Anything else is discounted. Then along came the Great British Public and everyone sort of wanted "cheap" air travel. And you got it. Now, an Airbus does not cost £10 a week on the HP and it costs many thousands of pounds to get an aeroplane in the air. So, for the fare you pay you get precisley what it says on the tin - you pay a low amount but all you get is taken from A to B. Anything extra and you pay. Food, drink, sit together - you pay. Now if you want the airline to bend over backwards for you by all means buy a business class or first class seat and then if you go to the loo they will hold the paper for you. A business class return London Goa is a tad over £3,700 plus tax - and you paid..... How much?

We go to Goa regularly, we turn up early at the airport before the check in opens. Once, on return from Goa people on our flight paid and still didn't get to sit together. Also you maybe in the same row but one of you will have to sit on the other side of the aisle. If your daughter is young it is unlikely that she will have to sit next to someone she doesn't know.Save the money and enjoy it out there.

It's a load of bull. Money making racket. Don't pay it!
You always get seats together if there are 2 or 3 of you. It is 3 seats adjoined usually, per row. The only way you wouldn't is if everyone else traveling on the plane are going solo which is never going to be the case.
Just get to the airport handy and have a wonderful holiday!

I hate thompson so much that I will not fly with them again. They rip you off for everything and sitting together can mean being either side of the aisle. It will cost you lots more to choose your seats and a pain to accomplish. If you complain, they don't care
They charge you for meals (which if you don't have will mean that you get shoved to the back of the plane).

Unfortunately, this is the way thinga are going, You are flying a charter airline and not a scheduled airline, so I would imagine you are getting a very good deal and this is how they make the profit from you flying with them, other extras on a charter flight include; extra leg room, meals and headphones.

that is stupid because family members should be allowed to sit together if not how will you find each other if they put everyone in different spot in the plane and i think that person trying to rip you off you...should have made a complaint

We have always been told to reserve our seats in advance to avoid being split up, we have never reserved our seats and by checking in as early as possible we have always been given adjoining seats.

wait till u get to check in and use the money for extra legroom seats that way u not have to pay twice?
