maybe you do not have the minimum system requirements to run that live cd....for instance i wanted to run Ubuntu 6 live cd on a Pentium 2 computer with 128 MB of ram and i couldn't because ubuntu has to have at least 512 MB of RAM in order to work smooth....so check your system requirements

What...wahat compoputer do you previously have, I don't think there would be so much differs, should you have gains some experiences in OTHER computer Lan,thgou. Or even a hipothetical ones.

if that's the operating system then u will have to reformat as it won't run on top of another system if u want both then u wil have to partition your format to install both operating systems but they will still run seperately i would suspect ....
