I've lived here all my life and I would say April. I remember this because I recall one of my friends planning to have her parents come out and visit her, and she told me, "I don't want them to come in April because that's when it rains." At the time, April was months away so I thought she was crazy or a weather psychic or something. It actually did rain in April...she was right...and I remembered the rhyme of April showers bringing May flowers.

That totally depends. There is no rainy season but the only time it will possibly rain is from November to April. But even then you may only see 4 days of rain as opposed an El Nino year where it will rain for a month straight. But in the months of May to Sept it very rarely rains.

Most of the rain comes in January and February. During this time, a series of storms roll down the coast from the Northwest and usually last 2 - 3 days for each storm. Be careful when driving during the first day of the storm since most drivers in LA become terrible drivers while its raining. Also, the roads can be slippery.

October.
One heavy rainstorm that releases all the built up oil and debris on the streets and causes accidents, then another around January.
Everything in between, by East Coast standards, is just enough to annoy your windshield wipers.
I see that you are getting variable answers. Check the State of California's Water Resources Control Board's Stormwater section to see that official months for the rainy season.

LA does not have a raining season. The average rain fall in LA is very low.
