people have been killing each other over religion for as long as there has been religion, it has nothing to do with current world leaders. they are just pawns, too. I choose to be my own priest, and I KNOW I will not burn in your hell for it, Just as you KNOW the truths of your own religion. So I believe Respect for others, and their right to choose for themselves is what is missing.

Many religions today, while claiming to follow the Bible, are largely influenced by human philosophies and traditions.
Often, religious leaders seem not as concerned with the accuracy of their message as they are with its acceptance by the masses.
Some feel that God is satisfied with any form of worship, as long as it is sincere.
I agree that in this matter each person must make his own decision. But did you know that God himself is looking for a certain kind of people to be his true worshipers?
Jesus Christ explained: “The hour is coming, and it is now, when the true worshipers will worship the Father with spirit and truth, for, indeed, the Father is looking for suchlike ones to worship him.”—John 4:23

The conditions you mention have developed because people who have professed to be religious have ignored what God’s Word really says. They have proved false to the power for good that true godly devotion can have in one’s life. 2 Tim. 3:2, 5
Some say that there is good in all religions. But while most do teach that a person should not lie or steal, and so forth, they allow and accept all sorts of things condemned in Gods word.
Would you be happy to drink a glass of poisoned water because someone assured you that most of what you were getting was water? Of course not!
The scriptures tell us frankly there is only one way of worship, and only a proper study of the Bible will tell us how.
Everyone should ask himself: ‘Is my way of worship acceptable to God? Am I genuinely interested in learning the truth of God’s Word.'
Sadly most people don't want to be bothered, and are happy to go along with the crowd, and the snippets of information that they *think* the Bible teaches.

Did you know that the Bible says: “Satan himself keeps transforming himself into an angel of light. It is therefore nothing great if his ministers also keep transforming themselves into ministers of righteousness.” -2 Cor. 11:14, 15. Here we are cautioned that not everything that originates with Satan may appear hideous. One of his chief methods of deceiving mankind has been false religion of all kinds, to some of which he gives a righteous appearance.

You have implied the statement "Your religion is truth to you, and my religion is truth to me, and so there is no need for me to change my religion.”
But each person of that attitude might well ask himself, "Would I resent it if someone who knew what he was talking about said to me: 'You worship what you do not know' " ?
The woman to whom such a statement was first made by a person of another religion did not resent it.
It worked out well for her. She grabbed the opportunity to ask a further question.
By this she found out why the one speaking to her was able to say what he did -he was the son of God and he knew the scriptures completely. John 4:1-42
With his help she was adjusted in her thinking and was able to come to an acurate knowledge of God. John 17:3
With acurate knowlege comes understanding regarding the questions you raise, genuine hope for the future, peace of mind, and a truly satisfying relationship with God. John 8:32

It's very simple: Religions teach division! Example: My religion is right & yours is wrong! My religion worships the true god, yours is false!

I do not belong to an organized religion but I do go to church all the time, the one in my heart. This is where true praise & worship takes place in everyone. It just depends on what god you have set up an alter for! The real one or a false one are the only two choices!

Religion puts limits on people's connection with God and people are never happy when seperated from God, because God is all there really is.

Religion doesn't make you happy. Only you can do that by standing by what you believe in! But man has created this concept and used for all sorts of evil.
Bin Laden uses it to manipulate his followers into comiting terrorist acts, and George Bush used it to elect and re-elect himself...
Man messes every good thing up!

Yes!

The arguments come about when the evil one attempts to divide and conquer God's faithful servants by interfering with our relationship with God through tricking us into sinning and becoming seperated from God.

That's the definition of sin.....seperation from God through willful disobediance of His commandments.
