There are so many brands of skin product in the market, some are very costly but vice versa, some are as cheap as flat price! That what l m curios about and annoying me too. The most l worry is the side effect of the product to my skin. We won't know it except for using its for a long period. It's too late when we realise about it and even harmful to our skin. Terrible! So, is that true good quality of skin care products normally will be higher charge? Or what the different ingredients for good and low quality been used in producing the widespreading items of skin care's products?

that's not true... for instance my mom bought this lotion in china, and it cost only about 5 yen or so. it instantly lightened and evened out my skin tone, plus it smoothens skin well. it's just a matter of looking for those that have real quality, without the hefty price tag - because some brands just tend to exaggerate

Ingredients that go into making any product costs almost the same for everyone. Everyone puts products into bottles and jars and again everyone pays almost he same price for those.

So why are some higher in price than others?

1. Might be more spent on marketing and a fancy bottle and sticker to make it seem elegant to give the illusion its rich and expensive. In turn allowing them to charge a higher price for how you feel when you take it off the store shelf.

2. Might of had a lot of research gone into the product and they are still trying to gain some of their profits back. This is normally true for new products. Once they are on the market for a bit the prices will drop.

3. Normally the lower end products end up being the best cause its the smaller guy who will drop his price lower than the big guys just to attempt to get the sale. Plus the smaller guy actually cares about the product where the large guy aka corporation just cares about the mighty dollar.

Good example of this was bleach whitening toothpaste that 20/20 did a show on a while back. Tested like 30 of the top toothpastes for whitening. Even over the strips and all the fancy high priced pastes....guess who won. The bottom in price, ugly box and no advertising....but the best product.

Like the old saying goes...." don't judge a book by its cover "

Price is not necessarily an indicator of quality. I've read reviews of product tests of skin creams and things like that in which the cheaper product was actually the best. Price often has more to do with the store selling the product and the name on the product then it does the actual ingredients in the product.
You should try a cream and if it gives you the result you want then use it. Start with the less expensive creams and work your way to the more expensive until you find the cream you like best and seems to work best for your skin type. Don't think, though, that you are automatically going to get better results in paying a higher price.

Not true. Most expensive skin care products are so, due to costs for research and development, as well as marketing and advertising costs. On top of that, now companies pay for branding and web site optimization for maxmum exposure of their skincare products.

You may have a "cheap" product that works, and also an expensive one that may or may not work. How do you choose your skincare products?

Firstly, you choose one that is meant for your skin type. 2ndly, if you want a product that "really" works, go for one that says PATENTED or PATENT PENDING. (Most likely it would be a mid-to-high range product where price is concerned.) You decide if it's worth the price, or if it's what you really need.

Another way is to research the product-manufacturers' claims. Ask users. A good place to check out what works and what's really a scam/fake is to visit http://www.QuackWatch.org (I am their loyal subscriber.)

Not true...some skincare products use a lot of fillers and stuff that make the product more appealing and seem like they are worth more...but if you are going for the basic premise that you want clean, healthy skin...try a smaller company that has natural products without a lot of fillers, chemicals, preservatives, etc. Just good skin care. My favorite is Personality Scents. Great products...great prices!

If you are not care about price then go with Lancome products. Some good cleansers; well-formulated scrubs; almost all of the sunscreens contain either avobenzone, ecamsule (Mexoryl SX), or titanium dioxide for sufficient UVA protection; an outstanding retinol product; large selection of self-tanning products; several excellent foundations with beautiful shades for almost every skin color; some great concealers; well-deserved reputation for mostly outstanding mascaras; the Absolue powder; the liquid eyeliner; all of the powder eye shadows; one fantastic lipstick and automatic lip liner.

it is not like that in all cases.yeah but mostly cheaper products r locally made and they don't hav all the essential ingrediants required to nourish our skin.sometimes they do more harm than good to our skin.that's why don't take risk.go for branded products which r trustworthy.
