Try this. You can find out which is the most less harmful gel to your hair.

I'm not sure about using anything else to spike your hair. Sorry!
Gel does create build-up and dries up your scalp. The first time I used gel, I went crazy over it and used it a lot. After, whenever I showered, my hair felt like plastic. So if you are going to use gel, find a shampoo that cancels build-up. If you find a good shampoo for that, email me please! I'm still looking for a good one.

Yes, all hair gels are harmful to hair care routine thus affecting our health and we end up losing hair and becoming bald. Hair will become dry, end up in curls or more brittle and then looks like pubic hair. So avoid that to happen. Use a good shampoo, conditioner and then leave hair as it is. Dont use hair mousse, hair gel, hair cream, hair spray, hair oil, hair wax and hair clay. Also dont color your hair. The only best thing I suggest you is to apply few drops of coconut oil to your hair then shower without washing your head, then go out or do your daily activities. Then after you shampoo, make sure you dry again so that can apply the coconut oil again. make sure its 100% pure coconut oil. also weekly once gingely oil or coconut oil use in excess quantity, different from daily appliance, and give yourself a head massage. Then wait for 30 mins minimum or 1 hour. Or else best result is leave it overnight like that apply a towel on your pillow and sleep. Then once wake up, wash it. Yes, you may need to use plenty of shampoo/conditioner. But then you can feel ya hair is conditioned, bouncy, shiny, silky, like it has got a brand new life.

Check out the ingredient list on the back of your gel. If it contains things like propylene glycold, sodium laurel (or laureth) sulphate or aluminum- those chemicals are very harmful to our bodies. I don't know where you could find an all natural gel, but just try looking for products that use natural ingredients and don't contain the chemicals I just mentioned. Best of luck!

Gel is fine for your hair, but try not to use a ton of it. Also, you need to wash it out, preferably every day. Use a 2-in-1 shampoo/conditioner like Pert Plus or Head & Shoulders.

I would honestly say.....YES! it is safe..or else i dont think they would have made or produced hair gel.
Im not sure where you are from (you know where you live) but if they have Sally's Beauty Supply store...try checking out Clear Ice..it has vitamins and all this other good stuff...and it holds your hair really well!
but over all...its safe...i use to use it all the time, when i use to spike my hair....but know i cut it real short that their is no need to spike it!

Can't be any worse than shampoo. If you look closely at some labels you will see most of them have a form of glue in them (PVA commonly). Kids use this in arts and crafts.
In the end it's a personal decision whether to or not. I have for years.
