Now the owner confines this poor kitty inside all day. I see this cat sitting on inside of the window sill all the time. Kitty was very friendly and almost too affectionate to me... Maybe the owner was jealous? I feel sorry for him. Do kitties move on to the other house, if they find other peole are better than the actuall owner?

Cats are curious animals who love to explore. She didn't come over because you are better than her owner, but because that is what any cat would do. The owner realized that she likes towander around and keeps her inside so that she doesn't get lost. I keep my cat inside too, when I am not in the house, because my cat goes from balcony to balcony and he might get lost. Once we lost him and he was really scared and started calling us, so that we would go and fetch him, because he couldn't jump back!

Your neighbor is just being a good pet owner. They probably don't want anything bad happening to their kitty and the kitty is happy sitting in the window believe me...they love it.
I don't mind my kitties visiting the neighbors at all as long as I know they won't hurt them, but a lot of people are hateful towards kitties.

I would'nt take it personal.;)

Maybe you could talk to your neighbor about it? Just explain as you did here that you don't want kitty confined because of you-could be there's another reason.
Cats will not generally leave one owner for another, although one of mine has several other "part-time" owners in the neighborhood!

Cat is where it belongs inside....unless you want it hit by a car, in a fight or killed by a wild animal. There is a reason why we call them domesticated animals. It is because we have brought them in from the outside.

all cats love to sit in the window. If the cat trusts you it will be your friend and return ten times the love you give it.
