Hi Cherry...unforunately this is all too common. Here's a website about this: http://www.hartzvictims.org/modules.php?name=News&file=article&sid=812
I hope your kitty recovers soon and well.
EDIT: I don't know if your vet advised you that most over the counter flea products can be dangerous. Frontline, Advantage, Revolution have been the safer alternatives and I suspect your vet may have relayed this information to you as well.

as much damage as Hartz has caused, I am surprised that this stuff is still on the market alot of dogs and cats have died while using this stuff, and its not just recently, this has been going on for years and years
glad that you were able to save your cat
spend a little more money and buy Frontline or Advantage from the vet

Its been in the news! Articles written about. My vet even has the articles posted on his office bulletin board. Hartz flea products are deadly to animals. How on earth can they keep selling it. I'm glad your cat lived. many don't

My friend, who is a vet tech, told me NEVER to give my cats that Hartz stuff. She has seen cats actually die from it.

After I read about the experiences of others I didn't buy their product although I was ready to. I'll spring for Advantage. It's safe and effective although expensive.

yeah, my kitten died from the hartz flea collar, she was 18 weeks.
start taking your cat to petco or something, it is not that expensive to get him dipped and bathed
